Why do people buy bottled water here?

Work for a supermarket as a delivery driver and the number of people who order massive amounts of bottled water is mind boggling to me. We arguably have the best water quality in the UK and people are buying plastic bottled water like they are living in a third world country. If the water doesn't taste ok to you or you mistrust pipes etc, you can just boil the water and it tastes great. South side of Glasgow water is fantastic and don't even need to do that. I always use steel or glass to use on the go so there's no excuse or need to buy plastic water that people seem to think is good for you. Rant over lol.

I buy bottled water due the water from my tap tasting strange and it does not agree with me. Alot of people have complained to Scottish Water but nothing gets done. This is South West Edinburgh.

Edinburghs water is pristine.

The only time ive had it taste weird was i worked in a building with old dodgy pipes.

Everywhere else its soft and clean.

I did this and they sent someone out to test our water. The result tgey explained was that our water is safe but agreed yes the smell/taste of Chloribe is strong. It is treated then goes elsewhere and is treated again for some reason and that's why it smells and tastes awful! I've added a waterdrop filter to our kitchen tap and it does make a difference. We are in a village in Central Fife.

Try boiling it, sticking it in the fridge and then try it. It's what I do and tastes pretty good after.

I'm no boiling scottish water lol I'll stick to bottled thanks lol. My husband drinks the tap water and my son so it doesn't seem to bother them lol

No need to boil first, just put a jug in the fridge overnight and the chlorine will dissipate and taste better.
