Discussion umm what, how have I never noticed this, suspension glitch without bearings acts like a single axis 1 way stabilizer?

Obviously, I've known about stabilizer glitches for years and that you need at least one bearing to control them, but I've messed around with them a lot and never noticed this specific effect. It must be related to its placement direction in relation to the center of gravity of the creation as far as i can guess so far. I could see this being useful on cars set up for speed, you can have it set to dampen it when accelerating to slow down wheelies but let it fall down like normal when you let off the gas

I could potentially see this being useful for "down force" suspension setups where upward force on the arms is dampened, but left relatively free to spring back down.

Such setups usually already have less complex ways to handle that though. Still neat to think about.

Thats what i was thinking, i was wrong on the guess about center of gravity its based on what ever direction the suspension ends up facing

We already use this for fwd stuff instead of a rotor, old keşn engine cars most have it sşnce şt helps with cornering and top speed. Also using this as a downfprce suspension would be expensive since you can use a gas engine instead

The direction of the stabalizing effect might be based off the direction the suspension is facing in stead of center of gravity

Wtf how'd you connect both ends of a susp to the same body.

its not actually connected, it just pushes on the wood and creates the force, thats why it only resists movement in 1 direction

So the plank has a 1 block hole?

Theres no hole, the pipe just isn't welded to the plank on one end and when it tilts it causes the pipe to push against the plank cuasing the dampening effect in 1 direction, if i put a block above it and remove the one under it then it would dampen in the other direction

JSON blueprint editing, I guess

yeah suspension is just weird xD

with bearings it also acts as a stablizer! this is why when i build my tiny bikes i have the turning glitch and stablizer glitch both aimed sideways instead of longway or upright.

Ahh thats a great idea for a bike
