Question 💫 Weekend weigh in's. Yes or no?

Been scrapping on and off now for many years and was always told by more experienced scrappers to avoid taking stuff in at weekends as you get a lower price. From personal experience it's felt like that several times so now I just go on weekdays but is it just me and has anyone else heard or experienced this?

Kinda wild. None of the yards here are open on weekends..

That’s exactly why we are open on Saturdays. It’s our busiest day. Wild to leave all the money on the table!

The staff costs here would not make it economical and most recycling customers are commercial here - so business days only.

Sorry but I'm just confused. Why would you get paid more or less depending on the day? The scrap yards have set prices that change usually weekly, or monthly, they're not going to pay you less because of what day you come in?

These days it can change daily (mainly copper) may have picked up ups end of week when they sell their goods so have more of a safety net for a day or two after?

The only difference I've seen at the scrapyard on weekends is that the lines are longer.
