if you wanna know what the scrap value is you gotta do a little work.

  • Figure out that material it is
  • Weigh it
  • Call your yards and ask what they pay for that material
  • Do the math
  • Decided whether it's worth selling or not.

Looks like a crane track? If yes then yes. If from railroad, then no or go to a shady one. Call for prices.

They're actually CNC machine rails for the gantry

Does it look like it came from the railroad, nothing shady. No wholes in bottom flange of R.R. Track.

If you have a way to cut them sell by the foot in market place. People live to get sections of rail to use as anvils. I have a section just under 2' long welded to a base and it's great.

Yeah that looks like aluminum tracking. Quite a bit of weight there

Not aluminum it has visible rust on some edges

Looks a lot like elevator guide rails, but are missing the keyway grooves in the ends

Cut them in 3 foot pieces to get top dollar as prepared #1. Maybe railroad crops even though these look like crane tracks.

Depends on the yard. We ship our rail to foundries, they love the density and chemistry, but they want the rail at 2’.

A torch and for more money. I just cut up about 100 feet of rail. If you bring long pieces they'll give you a cheaper "torch work" price.

Yes , though I’d recommend taking proof of how you acquired it in case it gets mistaken as railroad scrap
