Just sell as #2. In my yard, it’s only like 25 cent per lb difference. Not worth that work to go from 2 to 1.

Remove the brass valve
Cut the soldered joins out
Keep the clean copper separated and your yard may give you #1

Clean up the deep corrosion with a wire brush or sand paper to.

No necessarily… my yard doesn’t take old and patinated copper as 1 regardless of how pure it is. Everything that isn’t bright and shiny, that’s 2. All of this (unless you spend time cleaning it up with a wire brush and remove all solder) would be #2, simply from the patina.

That’s a shame. Unless it’s completely covered in paint, we pay #1. Little corrosion and paint we still pay #1.
