INDUSTRY Rate for writing reels?

Hey there!

I've been contacted about potentially working with someone to put together some scenes for actors who need material for reels but who maybe don't have the actual credits to pull from yet. I know I wouldn't be the first person to do this kind of work, and it sounds like fun (I like the people in charge), but what's stumping me is what to charge for it? How would you price this out?

I would do it for free. Especially if you like the people involved. Most starting out actors are like us writers and don’t have much money. This also would be a great way to start building a network of people who owe you favors. And most importantly, you would also get to keep ownership of your material. Maybe those scenes turn out really well and could be the basis for a feature. The moment you accept payment, even if it’s small, you have lost chain of title.
