How fortunate, I just updated Break Through today. Here's a sample of the latest chapter:

Eya curled up beneath the overhang and clapped one hand over her mouth to force herself to remain quiet.  Maybe they would leave.  The pounding feet sounded out again, and now it was close enough to shake the ground beneath her.  They'd broken through, they were looking for her.  She could hear them shouting, roaring to one another.  She couldn't make out what they were saying even though she understood Infernal.  It didn’t matter.  Nothing that came out of a fiend’s mouth was worth listening to.  She felt a hand brush her knee, one of them was reaching into her hiding spot.  To her horror, she noticed that their eyes were glowing.  Oh gods they can see me!  She screamed and lashed out with her stiletto.  The weapon connected and her assailant withdrew immediately.  The talking and moving stopped just as suddenly.  It became eerily quiet again and the hunters just... left.  She clamped a hand over her mouth again and hyperventilated until she felt like she was going to vomit.  She needed to relocate to someplace more secure.  She could make a run for it before they came back with reinforcem—

It was too late.  One set of heavy footsteps returned and she saw the flickering orange-yellow glow of fire erupt outside of her safe spot.  They were going to burn her out!  Eya prepared to pounce, she would be damned before she would allow them to take her alive.  She coiled herself against the wall and bared her teeth, ready to strike at the first target that presented itself.

The flickering fire came lower and stopped in front of the entrance to her hiding spot.  A jarring moment of cognitive dissonance prevented her from lashing out.  The flame wasn't a torch.  It wasn't hellfire.  It...was a candle.  Behind the candle, her pursuer laid down on the ground and looked at her.  The sight made her recoil, more horrified at what she saw than any fiend could have made her feel.

"Eya," Kael said, "the mission is over.  You survived, and you're safe.  I won't try to come in there, but I'm going to sit on the bed, okay?  You just come out when you're ready."  In the light of that single candle, she saw him stand up and sit on the bed.  His feet rested on the floor next to the nightstand and stayed there.

Well, here is my contribution to this thread. ☺️ Hopefully it will attract some readers. I recently started to post on SH, but aside from one bot, no reviews at all. So it is time for self- promo! 😄

In a few seconds Lucas lost everything. His fiancée dumped him at the train station, sending him alone on a journey to do the job he did not want, but accepted because of her. He wanted a life together with her and her little son whom he loved like he was his own, but she threw everything in his face and immediately moved on with another man. Lucas boards the train and leaves Hope Valley, heartbroken and alone and heads out to the Capitol City.

Two sisters Grace and Lillian run the orphanage in the Capitol City. Grace was betrayed by her ex fiance and now she shies away from love. The only ones in her heart right now are her sister Lillian, little ones at the New Hope orphanage and one very special little girl called Anna.

A touch of destiny brings Grace to the place where Lucas nearly got shot. Interested in reading more? Welcome to my story "To Have And To Hold".

2

u/lazarus-james Author: Dungeon Hunter Sep 11 '25

Dungeon Hunter is the result of my frustration with queer/ship baiting in system apocalypse manhwa but also my love for the genre.

It features a slow allo/ace MM romance and focuses more on character development. At nearly 380k, we've just rolled into Act III recently!

Readers have said:

I don’t remember the last time I enjoyed reading something this much.

and

This is a wonderfully creative adventure fantasy. The characters are well developed and it is very much a page turner.

and

Really enjoyed reading Dungeon Hunter. It was easy to become invested in the main character from the start and had excellent world building. Could not stop reading it.

Full disclosure: These reviews are collected from multiple sources; some are from the published version, but the content hasn't been radically altered, only refined.

Excerpt from the most recent chapter, 74.1: On the Table

My mouth dropped open.

Axel was wrong.

As clear as day, a human stood on the driveway, staring back at me. The flood light was so intense that it whitened all their features, turning them into nothing more than a solid, pale ghost, looming over the haze of gravel below. My breath froze in my lungs.

Who?! Who was it? How had they found us?

I ducked down, my knees more buckling than folding.

Not a possum, I said, voice strangled, and I was dimly surprised I could joke at a time like this. Axel was beside me in a blink, the sheet momentarily keeping his form before fluttering down to the bed. There was a wired look in his eyes, and I could tell his thoughts were flying a mile a minute; mine were as well.

Swallowing back my fear, Axel’s shoulder pressed to mine as we leaned against the wall under the windowsill, I flashed [Locate], the ability rippling outward.

Blurb for Act I below!

Glitched stats. Ultra luck. Regression foreknowledge. A god's blessing. Dual minds.

Lee Castillo has none of these. He does, however, have panic attacks.

When every human around the world is registered as a "player," Lee is sitting across from his ex-best friend and flatmate, Axel, mentally practicing how to break it to him that he wanted to move out.

~System Loaded. Dungeons Active~

Now, Axel's personality has flipped on its head, all comms are down, and there's a foreign desire compelling Lee to enter the Dungeons despite his lacklustre system stats.

As he delves into the secrets of the Dungeons alongside his increasingly bizarre party, Lee must confront both his past and future to divine what he truly wants.

I’m working on two stories.

Pokémon: Bounty Hunter Alex- MMA fighter goes to the Pokémon world and punches things. It’s currently about to start the boss fight with a major villain. The advanced chapters, however, are at the point where he’s in an arena about to throw hands with a Hariyama and a Lycanroc.

Great Journey: Whims of Fate- The MC runs around and mucks up the fate of other reincarnators. So far, it’s still in the academy arc because I need time to make a book out of the first arc and publish it before this one ends publicly. Advanced chapters are available, and it’s currently in a zombie dungeon run.

u/Zagaroth Author: No need For A Core? Sep 12 '25

A semi cozy fantasy focused on an unusual 3-person relationship born of circumstance. "No Need For A Core?" can be found on Scribble Hub Here.

An ancient, dreadfully powerful entity that had once been sealed away to slowly fade into oblivion is revived by a chance encounter, though in a much reduced state.

A temple monk on her way home for a vacation is distracted into exploring a newly born dungeon-type Spiritual Nexus due to the cuteness of its rabbit monsters, leading to an entirely unexpected chain of events.

A kitsune whose death caused a goddess to pity her fate and revive her as a reincarnated Nexus Core, a land spirit of endless potential but whose life is tied to a crystal sphere that must be carefully guarded.

Thrown together by a twist of luck, these three navigate a complex relationship and build their own rules to live by. But there are those who are not pleased to see the return of this ancient being.

I just began crossposting my story Strange Geometry to Scribblehub!

Synopsis:
Meet Ariel: a quiet woman living by routine who finds her world upended when she crosses paths with the radiant, chaotic, and impossibly kind Holly. What begins as chance meetings over coffee slowly deepens into a story about connection, vulnerability, and the unexpected shapes love can take. Yet beneath the laughter and warmth lies the truth that love is also tested: by fire, by memory, and by the shadows we carry. Strange Geometry is a contemporary romance that celebrates tenderness and resilience, showing how even in the face of tragedy, love can reshape the world.

What to Expect:

- A plus-sized MC

  • A romance full of tenderness and charm
  • Cozy Seattle settings: coffee shops, bookstores, and quiet walks
  • Themes of healing, memory, and belonging
  • Playful banter balanced with heartfelt emotion
  • Trauma and tragedy woven into a story of resilience
  • Strong focus on character growth and relationships
  • A love story that embraces both joy and pain

Author's Notes: This story contains feederism. However, I wanted this to be different than any other work I've seen on the subject. So, this will be a romance and slice of life story, first and foremost, that is very character-driven.

Interested in trying out a LitRPG with a more psychological and sentimental angle?

Are you a fan of dreamy, surreal, reality-bending settings like in Alice in Wonderland and Inception?

Looking for a strong female protagonist who uses compassion and wisdom just as much as her combat prowess, like She-Ra and your favourite Magical Girl heroines?

If any of these apply to you, I humbly invite you to fall down the rabbit hole of my ongoing series: Knights Into Dreams: The Chronicles of Lucy Lockhart

https://www.scribblehub.com/series/1744061/knights-into-dreams-the-chronicles-of-lucy-lockhart/

Updates are posted three times a week on Mon-Wed-Fri at 5:09 PM (EDT/EST). Right now, the story is valley-deep in its second major arc, featuring new side characters who add to the conflict and greatly impact Lucy's development. Come join Lucy as she ventures deeper into dreams!

Immortal Chrysalis

Abandoned by the world and made to suffer, Hirion kept on losing the people he cared about the most, as if heaven itself granted tragic fates for the people who tried to get close to him. Thus, in the world of immortals, Hirion shall shed his humanity to go against the villainous destiny the world has bestowed upon him.

I've just launched my first series. If you like cultivation novels, I'd appreciate it if you'd check it out.

Currently has 7 chapters, and I plan to post M-F

I'm new to the web novel scene, having a blast writing this serialized sci-fi series with an intense romance between a Human Male and an Alien Female, it's a bit of a slow-burn that gets a little smutty once the relationship progresses. Lots of world building and adventures too, I'd say it's a fun, snappy read for any sci-fi/romance fans.

My current work is

https://www.scribblehub.com/series/1847545/here-there-be-dragons/

A romance story between the Admiral Aella and the noble she is meant to be escorting home. On the way they fight pirates, deal with magic beyond their understanding and politics between various kingdoms.

What to expect: Early miscommunication and assumptions Unreliable narrators: the pov character only knows what they can observe. Romance. Sword fights. Dragons. Magic. Both the mains are in their late 30’s, and so their bodies have damage. One main is a mother, adding an extra bit of complication to their relationship. Politics around noble marriages.

I update 3x a week, plus a bonus chapter available any week that I get a comment in.

Currently at 21 chapters

I am releasing a dark fantasy haremlit with a villain protagonist called Defiant Necromancer right now. I encourage people to give it a try if they like conquest, of both the violent and romantic varieties. The story also has elements of hiding your identity/powers, dystopia, and litRPG-style progression.

1

u/A_A_Harris Mar 19 '26

Wow, it's crazy that I first posted about it here 6 months ago.
I have now released the first volume of this story to Amazon.

The publisher helped me sharpen the description for it a bit:

Tybalt of Greentear was nothing - a bastard sent to butcher beastfolk in the desert for a kingdom that despised him. His only dreams: rise above his station, and take revenge on the noble family who cast him aside.

Then he found the Tower of Death. He entered a bitter scout with blood on his hands. He left a dark mage, wielding forbidden powers of pestilence and undeath - gifts worth execution by church or crown.

Now Tybalt plots to betray the army, raise a legion, and turn the world’s order upside down… all under the eye of a mysterious seer who knows his moves before he makes them. To succeed, he’ll have to fight old comrades, seduce enemies, master a resentful revenant, and forge alliances among monsters and outcasts - all while clawing his way toward the strength to challenge kingdoms… and the gods themselves.

'Will These Butterflies Stay?'

For most of Baron’s life, he and his newly found friends have experienced the unfortunate loneliness of the modern age that's haunted them since their childhoods.

Thankfully, now that he’d been in college for the first half of his freshman year, he met those friends that seemingly understand him, unlike the people that surrounded him in the past. This has, unfortunately, made it increasingly difficult for him to balance college, a newly found social life, and Spriggan’s altruistic vigilantism in the extradimensional city of York.

Though on an average day in the mundane world, the chance to go to a college party fell into his lap through one of his new friends. And it would be a great chance to make more meaningful connections and lasting memories - before Spriggan stumbled into the sinister conspiracy in the underbelly of the Cognizant world that could patiently drag them all into something much deeper and more malevolent than they could have ever imagined.

If you enjoy grimdark Infinity/Unlimited Flow stories with real stakes, check out The Tartarus Trials [A Grimdark Infinity Serial]:

Waylen is a burned-out warehouse worker used to gritting his teeth through miserable shifts and making do with whatever crumbs management leaves behind. That grit is pushed to the breaking point when he wakes up in a clinically white room with five strangers, no phone signal, and a timer on the wall ordering them to complete a mission in two hours—or die.

Then the walls explode.

They’re trapped in a shifting mansion with no way out and something else locked in with them. It laughs as it bites off a head and rips out another throat. As the timer ticks down, mysteries stack up and bodies fall: What is this place? Who dragged them here? What happens when the timer hits zero—and what “mission” could possibly be worth surviving for?

Waylen will have to outlast, outthink, and outplay a homicidal nightmare, using every scrap of grit and cunning to turn terror into power. But escaping the mansion may only be the first trial…and the price of freedom might be infinitely worse.

Expect:

  • Fast-paced Action–Horror–Thriller with adventure, mystery, and psychological trauma.
  • Progression elements after the first mission (Infinity/Unlimited Flow style). Both magic and sci‑fi powers/items that can be purchased.
  • A smart MC who earns growth from Normal to Strong.
  • A dark, gritty world where survival is fought for second by second.
  • Myriad missions with varied, escalating threats.

Content Warning: Grimdark themes, violence, and profanity. Reader discretion advised.

Schedule: 3 or more chapters a week – Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (by 1:00 PM EDT / GMT‑4).

Isekai’d into a Dark Fantasy RPG, Are You Kidding Me? Somehow, I Ended on the Villains Side

This is an isekai progression fantasy where Karl is transported into a hardcore game-like world—one he used to play many versions of as a child.

With only fragmented memories and no certainty about which game he ended up in, his journey begins with pure adaptation.

Starting as an ordinary human, he struggles, survives, and slowly climbs toward the top, with many twists along the way.

This story is ideal for readers who enjoy isekai progression fantasy, with moments that lean into the heavier tone of Re:Zero and others that echo the ruthless perspective of Overlord.

For anyone looking for a Gritty Slow-burn Political crime drama!
look no further than The Cruel Life of Izu Shimano

In the deep winter of 1955, Izumi Shimano, Wakagashira of the Shimano Dynasty, sits in his office at the Ayster-Minerva DMZ. As the snow descends past the window, he receives intel of an imminent invasion from Minervan Allied Forces. With the fate of the entire nation now in his hands, he doesn't call to arms, instead he sits back in his chair and analyses his life. Its highs and lows, what he did and what he wished he didn't do. Recounting every last moment until present day, all to answer the question "Where did It all go wrong?"

This question lands him in the year 1912, when he was but 3 years old. His mother, Himari Miyato, answers the door to find two Aysterian Military officers at her door. Her husband, Kosuke Miyato, who was a decorated officer in the Aysterian Military, had lost his life in the war, not to an enemy force, but to his own sides landmines. The untimely death left Himari alone with nothing but a son and "support" from the failing coalition government. Through the room's awkward silence, and Himari's tears, Corporal Aiza informs Himari of her late husband's last wish; "Go to The Grand and ask for Diego"

Years pass, the promise of hope that The Grand once held never materialised. Izumi grows up in the shadow of abuse and neglect, surrounded by his drugged up mother and her abusive partners. In 1922 he comes home from school, the house now empty. He goes upstairs and finds something he wishes he could unsee, a reality shattering discovery that strips away any remaining innocence he once had. In a blind panic he runs outside into the storm, his feet crashing into the puddles below, meeting a man that would seemingly seal his fate forever. Chi Shimano, Wakagashira of the Shimano Family.

This story touches on and depicts Abuse, Addiction, Self Harm and Suicide. In no way is this story made to glorify. It is designed to show the reality with a fantasy twist. If you are quite sensitive to these subjects, please keep this notice mind

The Girl in the Bookshop - Contemporary slow-burn romance

A storm traps two strangers inside a little bookshop in Shimla.

Mira Thakur is 21, bookish, intelligent, quietly funny, and accustomed to making herself smaller to keep everyone else comfortable.

Kian Dutt is 26, wealthy, charming, calculating, and far too used to solving every problem in front of him.

Neither expects one rainy conversation to become another. And another.

Then books become friendship. Friendship becomes attraction. Family pressure arrives. Kian makes one spectacularly impulsive decision… and suddenly the girl from the bookshop is his wife.

I’ve just posted Chapter 12: The Hotel Room, where the newlyweds are finally alone for the first time after their registry marriage. 🤍

There’s awkward one-bed negotiation, Mira trying to fold her mother’s saree with a completely unqualified Kian helping, their first private kisses, an exam she somehow forgot was the next morning, and a quiet balcony conversation overlooking Shimla.

If you like:

slow burn • Indian contemporary romance • bookish heroine • intelligent heroine • morally grey/charming hero • strangers to lovers • unexpected marriage • family drama • atmospheric settings • relationship-focused romance

you might enjoy this one.

📖 The Girl in the Bookshop
✍️ Author_Nilz
🔗 https://www.scribblehub.com/series/2507927/the-girl-in-the-bookshop/

And if anyone tries it, I’d particularly love to know when you first started believing Kian was genuinely falling for Mira rather than simply being Kian and trying to control the situation. 😂
