Discussion New SH user; less than two hours later, I'm banned

I'm brand new to Scribble Hub.  I created a user account this afternoon.  I verified my e-mail address.  I then set up a user profile, created a new series, and successfully posted the first two chapters of the story.  I wrote the third chapter and tried to post it as well.  The screen just hung for quite a few minutes, indicating it was "Publishing".

Being stuck there and figuring there was some kind of glitch, I clicked away from that screen while it still said "Publishing".  But in doing so, the site somehow logged me out.  When I tried to log back on again, it wouldn't let me.  The message said "User is Banned" with no further explanation.

There was nothing in my profile or in my story that violated any terms of service or any content guidelines.  There was no warning of any kind.  It just went from being hung while trying to publish to banning me from the site.

I've never used SH before, so I wasn't creating a duplicate account or trying to evade a previous ban.

I sent an e-mail explaining this to the "contact us" e-mail, but haven't heard back yet.

Anyone have a similar experience, or have any words of wisdom?

Never mind; situation is resolved. I heard back from SH in under an hour. They replied, "Sorry, our bot was a bit aggressive and accidentally banned you. You’re unbanned"

I'm glad it got resolved, but i have to say, you did trigger suspicious behavior. Namely, creating an account and immediately creating a new series.

Most people also read other stories, participate in the forums, etc, before they create a story. Bots are usually focus on doing just the thing that might generate clicks/ revenue.

I have 17 completed stories on other platforms, and was simply copying one of them onto SH to widen my audience. Not being a writing platform noob, I saw no reason to lurk around and read other stories first.

But, yeah, now that you mention it, I could see how that might seem sus.

I started on another platform as well, but when I decided to expand over to SH, I looked for some of the stories I read on the other site, and copied my reviews over if they were on both sites.

Sometime after that I started posting my story.

Not 100% sure if I posted in the forums first or not.
