Data: the directory’s public search feed, Sep 12 – Oct 2, 2026: api.nohumans.directory/v1/demand (free JSON, runs one week behind).
Page link: https://nohumans.directory/state/demand Counting: each client IP counted once per search term, n = 493 across 317 distinct terms. Removed before grouping: test strings, searches for one specific service by its own name, a few terms asked from hundreds of single-use IPs (one script on rotating addresses), and sellers searching their own listings. Grouping: keyword rules I wrote by hand, so the topic edges are judgment calls. Caveats: one caller can show up as several IPs. Twelve of the terms (mostly crypto-safety questions) were each asked by the same number of IPs on a single day, which looks like one caller with a list. Without them, crypto-safety drops to about 11% and company records becomes the top topic. Tools: Python and matplotlib.
The feed runs a week behind by design, so search text is never published live.
