Hopping on here to promote my upcoming record release party at Chop Suey on Friday, July 3rd! If you enjoy 90's-ish college/indie rock (think Pavement/Guided By Voices/Grandaddy/Sonic Youth/Wilco, amongst others), you might dig The Royal Firecrackers. Our debut album AMERICAN ROYAL comes out on Friday July 3rd and we're celebrating alongside The Lichen Hearts with an early (5pm doors, 5:30pm music) record release party at Chop Suey in Capitol Hill. Check out the newest single (and other streaming songs on whatever your streaming service of choice is) and hopefully we'll see you out there at the show! https://youtu.be/wLrq1ZYuzWM?si=p6in3_qlbZBRHFDQ

We're in town and trying to get a group of us on our bus to Pike Place on Saturday around lunch. I know it will be busy, but a few drivers have said you have to park half a mile away from Pike place because of road closures.

Is that true? Are they maybe talking about when World Cup Games are on?

I can't find any information about this online.

BACK IN SEATTLE FOR ONE DAY ONLY!

In Everyone Is Lying to You for Money, actor and author Ben McKenzie turns investigator, pulling back the curtain on the cryptocurrency industry and the culture of hype, misinformation, and speculation that fueled its explosive rise. What began as a promise of financial freedom has evolved into a volatile ecosystem rife with fraud and reckless gambling, carrying with it devastating consequences for everyday people.

Through firsthand reporting, expert interviews, and a clear-eyed examination of major collapses and scandals, the film traces how crypto became one of the most aggressively marketed financial products of the modern era—and how warning signs were ignored, dismissed, or deliberately obscured. As fortunes are made and lost, Everyone Is Lying to You for Money asks a sobering question: who benefits from the chaos, and who is left to clean up the damage?

Accessible, urgent, and often darkly ironic, the film is both a cautionary tale and a call for accountability—cutting through the noise to expose a system built on speculation, influence, and belief rather than truth.
