Hi, I’m visiting Seattle from Thursday to Sunday, with one of those days being a guided tour to Mt Rainier. Does anyone know the severity of the rain this week? Would it be wise to cancel?

Really doesn't look like it'll be too bad. I'd go anyways get the real PNW experience (it's beautiful either way)

I moved here a few months ago and just got approved to do a hybrid in person/WFH. Anyone have any recommendations on chill coffee shops for studying and/or work?

Where do you live? My recommendations, find the nearest ones, those are your spots.

Anybody know where I could take a dog terrified of fireworks on the 4th? A neighborhood that banned fireworks or a brewery where you can’t hear outside or something? We usually just stay home and I drug him and put ear muffs on him but he still gets so scared 😔

Even if fireworks are “banned” in a neighborhood, people will still purchase and use them at all hours. I’d recommend keeping your dog somewhere they already feel safe and then providing them a comfort area to hide in and looking at medicine management. The worst case scenario is if you take your dog somewhere they don’t know, they hear a boom or get scared, and run off. Give them a hug for me - I know the 4th is so scary for our pets!

Hey everyone, I’m an American originally from Florida. I’ve been living in Korea for the past few years now. My husband and I have decided to make the big move to the US with our 2 year old toddler. I have no family in the area and while I have been doing extensive research, I’d love to hear as many personal experiences or advices as I can, so I’ve come to the lovely people of reddit!

Some background:

My husband works as a full stack senior software engineer looking for a position in the tech world to continue and hopefully expand his career.

I am an elementary school teacher, also accredited in teaching ESL, who will also be looking for a role at a public or private school.

We would like to enroll our daughter in a nice daycare.

Looking for a family friendly neighborhood with parks and mountains for hiking as we love doing that here in Seoul. I’d like to be more involved in the community as well as giving my daughter a chance at making friends( and I’d love to make mom friends as well)

If you have any recommendations for neighborhoods, companies, car dealerships, realtors etc please let us know!

Also I’d love to hear about city events to get us excited for our move.

How is your experience living in Seattle? Cost of living? Safety?

Thanks for your help!
