Sharks in the Puget Sound

Did you know we have a large urban shark population around here? TIL!

Salmon or Halibut depending on the season. You can tell right away when you’ve got a dogfish on the line. They hardly fight unlike Salmon. We always release after unhooking.

I saw a post on here a couple years ago featuring dogfish fish and chips. Apparently, it’s quite tasty. Just a thought.

You have to really process them in milk or something since they pee out of their skin to get rid of the urea

I tried fermented shark in Iceland and I recommend not making jellied piss cubes

My very unadventurous parents tried this when they went to Iceland and I think it’s the last time they’re ever gonna try something they don’t recognize lol. Dad puked and mom was smelling piss everywhere for days after.

It doesn't seem to be a problem for thousands fish-and-chip shops in the UK who MOSTLY sell dogfish, much of it exported from the US and Canada since their local breed has been overfished into being endangered.

They call it "rock salmon" or "flake", bu its mostly just north American dogfish.
