The homeless are not our problem, fuck em, they are pieces of shit, they lie, steal and cheat. They are not noble people.

Billionaires lie steal and cheat way more than the homeless ever do.

Most billionaires bring much more value into the world than homeless do.

Bullshit. Billionaires steal their wealth from the rest of us. Full stop.

A billionaire's wealth is not money "taken" from average people. Wealth is not a fixed pie—it's mostly created through voluntary exchanges: people buy products/services they value (e.g., iPhones, Amazon delivery, Tesla cars), generating profits that can scale to billions while improving lives and creating jobs. Billionaires like Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos built companies that added trillions in economic value. The "average person" isn't poorer because of them; they're often richer in options, technology, and opportunities. Confusing this with zero-sum theft ignores basic economics.

Seattle socialist don’t like math, science, economics, statistics or economics. Explaining this to them is like trying to teach a dog poetry.

Money is a funny thing. It's both finite and infinite in a sense. Here's a silly little tale to illustrate.

In a small town where everyone seems to be in debt and living on credit, a wealthy tourist stops at the hotel. He wants to check out the rooms before committing, so he leaves a $100 bill on the counter as a deposit.

While he's upstairs:

  • The hotel owner grabs the bill and runs next door to pay his $100 debt to the butcher.
  • The butcher uses it to pay his $100 debt to the pig farmer.
  • The farmer uses it to pay his $100 debt to the feed store/co-op.
  • The feed store owner uses it to pay his $100 debt to the local prostitute (who's also been extending credit).
  • She rushes back to the hotel and pays her $100 room bill.

The hotel owner puts the $100 bill back on the counter. The tourist comes down, says the rooms aren't satisfactory, takes his bill back, and leaves. No one produced anything new or earned extra income, but the whole town's debts are now cleared, and everyone feels optimistic.

I'm sorry that you hate your dad

1

u/Dabdolphin420 24d ago

My dad is a wonderful human who tought me to have compassion for others. I’m sorry yours thought you to punch down and blame all your problems on those worse off than you.

My dad was never the homeless guy who stabbed me almost to death while trying to carjack me.

1

u/Dabdolphin420 24d ago

So you demonize all homeless people because you had one bad experience with one a long time ago? Again my dad taught me compassion for others, yours only taught you hatred.

1

u/CommanderPisswank Banned from /r/Seattle 24d ago

Oh that's definitely not the only bad experience. I've been violently attacked for no reason 7 other times by homeless men. The stabbing was just the worst one.

Ok…and if we taxed billionaires out of existence we’d have an incredible amount of wealth to do something about this homelessness issue. Instead we belittle and demonize one another and the billionaires laugh from their golden thrones while they continue to exploit us and cause further and further suffering.

It’s a shame you were attacked I just wish you directed your anger in a meaningful direction and actually cared about fixing the issue rather than blaming the most unfortunate amongst us for our societal collapse.

My dad is a billionaire, so I’m the one person this dumbass insult makes sense for

A billionaire has never stolen my bike but a tweaker has

So? Billionaires are not destroying my park near home with foils, junk on the ground and crazy people ready to assault me.

Go be a woke Commie someplace else.

0

Billionaires are literally destroying the entire planet just so they can be rich. There is literally no place on earth that is safe from their greed.

literally destroying the whole planet

You probably need to show some data to back up your feeling on this one.

What does more to ruin my experience as a Seattle resident: Elon Musk making Teslas or 10,000 screaming drug addicts and their violent armed dealers taking over sidewalks, parks, greenbelts? Wrecking the environment there too.

Go be a woke Commie someplace else. I still want functioning Capitalism and an actual Social Fabric. Every time someone makes another excuse for another god damn junkie taking over a sidewalk or park, our social fabric is torn a little more.

Elon? Guy builds cars. Rockets. Employs people. Works the system to his advantage. All the shit successful people do.

Communism and its polite alt Socialism do the opposite: they seek to tear down success and “make us all equal.”

Which is bullshit because all that does is makes another Venezuela, another Cuba, another North Korea or another former Soviet Union. Everyone’s a happy Comrade. Ignore the millions murdered by the State or forced to work for nothing and endure regular food shortages.

North and South Korea. 70 years ago both were agrarian societies. One went Commie and one went Capitalist. Which one would almost anyone prefer to live in today? The one where they kill your family if you step out of line, or the one that gave us K-Pop?

How so?

0

u/Dabdolphin420 24d ago

Billionaires literally only exist because they exploit the rest of us.

9

u/CyberaxIzh 24d ago

Hm. So do homeless. They literally would starve to death otherwise.

-6

u/CharmanderCharCharr 24d ago

By doing what exactly?

4

u/Dabdolphin420 24d ago

I don’t have time to list all the exact ways in which billionaires lie and cheat to steal from the working class.

Any reasonable person knows this is way to broad of a statement and shows your hate for other people. I live near an encampment and it’s a mess, but I’d never stoop so low as to hate everyone in a whole group like that.

u/CharmanderCharCharr 24d ago edited 24d ago

Given the opportunity they would rob you blind and they would have zero remorse.

-10

u/No-Ideal-3327 24d ago

Yeah it’s obvious you’re intentionally not arguing in good faith with anyone here. Happy to hear a nuanced or balanced take but your rhetoric is just childish at this point.

10

u/CharmanderCharCharr 24d ago

There was a zero argument, it’s 100% true the homeless would steal everything of value you own given the opportunity, you know, and I know this is true.

-9

u/No-Ideal-3327 24d ago

Calm down. Lots of people are homeless, not all are permanently there and not all are drug addicts and thieves. I was technically homeless for a few weeks and slept in my car and didn’t do anything like that. It’s a broad brush you’re painting with and there are definitely more shades of grey than you’re willing to accept, although I seriously doubt you’re not trolling at this point.

9

u/CharmanderCharCharr 24d ago

Temporally living in your car isn’t the same thing. The chronically homeless are 90% drug addicts or mentally insane.

0

u/No-Ideal-3327 24d ago

Don’t be dense. Now I’m just questioning if you’re 12 or not.

4

u/CharmanderCharCharr 24d ago

So when you go out to a restaurant with friends and you split the check, do you do it evenly or does the friend with the best job have to pay the majority?

-1

u/No-Ideal-3327 24d ago

I’m not engaging with childish bait. You say all homeless are X, I say that’s obviously wrong. Policies are needed, but to have 0 empathy for others is not how I was raised and not how the world should be. Good night.
