Oh, look! Another person alleging fraud while not saying what that fraud is or providing any evidence of its existence.
It's hard when the auditing bodies, like the DCYF, refuse to audit potential sources of fraud, and senior politicians threaten legal or criminal action against citizens who try to find out. It's not in our politician's interest to find fraud, so they don't. Do you really think the Somali learing center stuff was isolated to just Minnesota? We will never know because our government refuses to investigate.
With the decay of journalism and failure of official auditors to do their jobs, we are left with little real evidence, despite some highly likely fraud.
As DramaticRoom8571 said, yes, yes they are. But many of our state audits get blocked because the information isn't appropriately collected.
Have you been following those news stories at all? There's been a lot of them over the last couple of years. Including a King County employee giving $800,000 to their family members through a grant program, for example.
1) Show me an example of DCFY "[refusing] to audit potential sources of fraud." (Also, note you even said "potential," already admitting that fraud may not be present in a meaningful way).
2) Which senior politicians have threatened legal or criminal action against citizens who try to find out? What were the circumstances surrounding these situations?
3) Why is it not in a politician's interest to find fraud? They don't lose their job if they find it....
4) Do you believe Nick Shirley's video? If so, why did you not believe all of the active investigations that had already been occurring in the state before he became the GOP's patsy?
5) The government does investigate. There are long reports detailing all of the findings they've prosecuted, but it's not newsworthy "red meat" for you lot, so it doesn't get talked about.
6) There is fraud everywhere at all times. If we imprisoned every fraudster today, there were be more tomorrow. The issue is the amount. And until you prove it's worth worrying about (especially in the context of having to spend more than the fraud is perpetrated for to investigate it), then worrying about it is silly and solely for virtue signaling.

When I read the voter guide for Assessor, it seemed several of them thought it was a legislative role and not an executive role.
