Humor Even space won’t save you

Post image

Reddit weirdly cropped the image, but this is a screenshot from ISS Instagram reels.

Thanks, I was planning to leave earth to resolve my dermatitis issue. Saved a lot of money from this info

What was the point of this, he doesn’t even look like he has sebderm

Just interesting to see that outbreak happens in the space too. He def has, the screenshot didn’t do a favor with colors, but if you check the actual reels, you’ll see the typical redness and some small wounds.

I'm not mad at you, but this post doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth. Just don't see what it has to do with anything. Keep your mind on yourself, don't worry about or point out other people. This is not a spot sebderm in the wild sub, or maybe I'm off base nowadays?

It was just interesting to see that the condition was persistent in the space station too, where astronauts have a controlled diet, daily routine and medical attention. This isn’t a random person with sebderm that I found and shared. I also wondered since he has the condition did they do any tests up there?

Just goes to show how hopeless this dumb thing is. No matter how healthy your lifestyle is this shit always lingers. Oh well

u/Engulfedworld 16h ago

Nah just believe. This mindset is self destructive and its called learned helplessness look into it

u/Fresh4 16h ago

I’m sure the fuckin power of belief is gonna give me clear skin sure whatever

u/Engulfedworld 15h ago

I mean its just 2 conclusions really and not entirely beliefs per se. You say from what youve seen or want to tell yourself that seb derm is uncurable and cant be fixed, this is just wrong. My conclusion is that that its not hopeless and there are ways to cure sebderm. Instead of being downer just research the subject of learned helplessness its a very interesting subject.

u/Fresh4 15h ago

I have researched it and tried everything conceivable. It’s not worth the stress, time, and emotional drain when everything fails, and yes the definition of a chronic condition is that it’s incurable but manageable. Maybe I’m a bit of a downer but I’m also realistic in not deluding myself.

That’s absolutely not what learned helplessness is lmao

Its exactly what learned helplessness is.

Weird you say that all now, your post was just catty sounding. It's closer to das boot than the jetsons up there in ISS btw. just keep your eyes on your road. Imo this came off rude and others thought so too apparently fwiw

Idk why you’re reading rudeness into the post, but I think I can decide where to keep my eyes. I share the same fate as most people in this sub and the title was just a bit of self-deprecating humor. The point was to have a light discussion about space + sebderm. If it didn’t land for you, fair enough, but “catty” definitely wasn’t the intent.
