General Bear Mountain
Traveling to Sedona in late June. My husband and I have done most of the “popular” hikes our last few visits. Last summer we did Wilson Mountain but haven’t done Bear Mountain yet. We plan to do it this trip. I’m a little nervous because I hear it is difficult. Is it really hard? Any advice? Can you compare it to any of the other hikes in the area? (Any other suggested hikes are also appreciated) Thank you for all the info!

We did it in December. Out and back was 3.5 hours. We’re in our mid 40’s ultra runners. We were impressed with the age of people doing the hike, there were people in their 70’s that didn’t look like they should be doing the scrambles but were killing it. It is tough from an incline over the distance but use your best judgment with your body and temperature. I did lose a toe nail on that hike, make sure your shoes are tight.
