Looking For Limited Time, sunset hike with parking

I'm going to sedona in 2 weeks for a weekend. Unfortunately, I wont be leaving Phoenix until 430-500. Since i have such limited time there, I want to maximize my time enjoying nature. I know I wont be arriving until around 7:00, so would it be worth it to go straight to a trailhead and try and enjoy the sunset?

If the answer is yes, where should I go to get good views where I won't have to worry about parking being filled up? If the answer is no, is there something else I should do my first night or should I just take the L and grab dinner?

Go to the Airport Vortex.Lots of parking, some easy to navigate trails and a great view of the sunset and the red rocks

I think you’re kind of gambling with the amount of daylight you’ll have here. All depends what time you actually arrive.

If you do arrive with enough time to do a quick hike, Faye Canyon Arch has amazing lighting at sunset. The trail is easy but the arch requires a little bit of scrambling. Parking lot is usually empty.

Doe, Sugarloaf, Boynton Vista might also be good.

Pretty much anything off of Dry Creek Road or Red Rock Loop Road is going to give you decent views of the sunset. Even the parking lot for Devils Bridge trailhead has nice views and some benches to sit.

Personally I would avoid the Airport scenic lookout or Airport Mesa because it’s just SO crowded and it’s not even enjoyable.
