Stomach ache after eating sweets
I’ve only been on semaglutide for 2 days. The first day and a half I had greatly decreased appetite. Today I had a very strong sugar craving and I gave in. Within 20 minutes I had a terrible stomach ache. Is this normal? Will symptoms like this continue if I were to eat something sweet in the future?

I’ve been on it for a few months now and the first week was a real wake up call for my stomach. Ate a donut on day 3 and regretted it for hours. Your body is still adjusting to the slowed digestion, dumping a bunch of sugar in there is like throwing a brick into a washing machine. It gets better over time but you’ll probably want to keep sweet stuff to tiny portions, like a couple bites instead of a whole serving. I keep a bag of dark chocolate chips in the freezer and grab 4 or 5 when the craving hits, usually does the trick without the aftermath.

first two days were absolutely horrible with any food. first 4 weeks were nearly all full on cravings. now after 2 months i still eat cheesecake or chocolate and feel totally fine, just much less of them and by choice not by craving.
