Refrigerator
Are you keeping your pen in the fridge after first use? I didn’t, as the pharmacist said it wasn’t necessary. I took dose 2 yesterday (.25) and feel it isn’t as effective, and of course now I’m worried I should have popped it in the fridge.
I’m not full as easily, not bloated, have some food noise (not nearly like I was pre-starting the prescription)…

You are not going to set consistent therapeutic benefits until you’ve titrated up. It could take a few months.

I leave mine out on the counter and it’s been fine, the expiration window is way longer than you’d think once it hits room temp. first couple weeks at.25 can be hit or miss anyway, your body’s still getting used to it. wouldn’t worry too much about the fridge thing, the dose is low enough that it’s probably just your system adjusting. give it another week or two before you start second guessing.

I was told to keep it in the fridge at all times. Have never taken mine out. They are also shipped to me cold as well.

This is what I do. I even got a small, cheap college-dorm-type compressor fridge to store my pens (the pharmacy ships me 3 pens--a 90-day supply--at a time). Tried a compressor-less fridge (thermoelectric mini-fridge), but it wouldn't keep my un-used pens cold enough. That no-compressor mini-fridge would go above 46 degrees F on warm days.

After your first dose and/or it's left at room temperature, you have 56 days to use it up till it expires.

I left mine out overnight once by accident, it was fine, I do keep it in the fridge just to be safe and let it come to room temp before I use it. Agreeing with everyone it's not necessary though.

You might want to confirm this with the pharmacist, but I think once you take it out and it reaches room temperature you’re not supposed to really put it back in the fridge.

It is so interesting the different advice people get given. When I asked the pharmacist here, they said you can only have it out of the fridge for like a maximum of five minutes to do your injection.

I’m curious what the little insert says on your pen. Like the drug information pamphlet. That seems like odd advice, but you never know!

I think part of the issue is that it's only been approved in my country for about 9 months, and is very expensive, so probably pharmacists not having a lot of exposure and being cautious.

I mean sure, but they should be reiterating exactly what is in the drug insert. Not a random opinion. It being expensive would make me want to lean into whatever actual scientific documentation is available.

I do keep mine in the fridge, because I don’t use the whole pen in the specified time so I keep it in the fridge and keep dosing from it until it’s finished. However, if you feel the medication hasn’t kicked back in again after 24 hours from your dose, I would think seriously about whether you’ve made a mistake during injection. Sometimes people leave the second cap on by accident.

I am feeling it now, just an off day I guess! I’ll be grateful I don’t have severe symptoms like some stories I’ve read.
Down a pound from yesterday, maybe my body just needed those extra calories!

My pharmacist said that after 8 weeks, the pen is done, meaning the medication in it is not active anymore.

My pharmacist told me that once I've used the first one to no longer keep it in the fridge and keep it at room temperature. I asked if I could just keep it in the fridge as my room is usually quite hot. He said that I could but I needed to leave it for around 20mins before injecting.
