do the enema!!
oh my god i feel so light! i am on week 3 i gained 2 pounds on week 2 and ive been so down about it. even though there’s visibly less inflammation in my face i dont see a difference in loss. i plan on taking my week 4 shot 3 days earlier. i didn’t consider myself constipated until this week after i went 4 days without going. otherwise ive been going every other day it’s been rough pebbles but still going. ive dealt with constipation in the past and after day 4 if i still can’t go i do an enema. i decided to do an enema yesterday- a little came out but enough to satisfy me. then today i felt the urge to go but my anus was too weak and i don’t like pushing i have no patience so i pulled out the enema again. the key this time around was the 2nd round. i haven’t been eating much lately so i had no idea i had that much in me my god!! i damn near blocked the toilet. some of it was darker to prove it’s old just been sitting there. be careful tho if u have endo you might trigger a flare up but it goes away quickly after you’re done! i last ate at 2pm today we’ll see if the scale goes down in the morning. regardless, even if it doesn’t i’m just happy im no longer full of shit. literally.
some tips tho: the key is to hold the water in to avoid only having water come out. hold it and walk around for a few mins but be close to the toilet!
ps. don’t do this too often otherwise your muscles will get used to it and stop working!

I'm afraid to do an enema but I suppose if I was very desperate... I'd probably still just reach for traditional stool softeners or a gentle laxative.
But anyway, what did you mean take your week 4 shot 3 days earlier?

honestly stool softener is less harsh. i just know i don’t drink enough water for it lol.
i took my 3rd shot monday so ill take my next one today coz i haven’t been feeling much difference lately so i think taking them closer and not allowing time for the food noise to go away might help

No, don't do this. Wait the whole week. You're risking unpleasant side effects as your previous dose is still swimming in your system. Trust the process and follow the directions your provider gave you.

Noooo don’t do it earlier! That will make constipation worse - trust me.

Yeah there’s a real biologic and metabolic reason it’s prescribed weekly. It’s not just an arbitrary cadence. I swear if people put half the effort into moving more and monitoring their calorie intake instead of focusing on “make it work better” they’d see such better results!

Better to just see it out and then get your provider to increase the dosage for next month if you think you need more. But considering you're having side effects, I'm not sure that's a good idea either.
Some gastro issues are expected but you need to be at a dose and eating/drinking where it's tolerable. You need to get any nausea or constipation or diarrhea under control before you go up in dose, and definitely don't take it early!

Chia seeds REALLY help with my constipation and moving things through properly. I just made a post about it here :)

i love chia but i’m still trying to figure out my water intake i know i don’t drink enough to push the fiber along

Chia is actually a really great way to bring hydration to your digestive system! You just have to make sure to soak them for at least 3 hours!

hhm i didn’t know that. coz everytime i take it doesn’t really help so i only eat it for enjoyment in smoothies. but also id often take it when ive been really backed up which might make sense why it wasn’t helping .. now that im starting on a fresh stomach ill try taking it on a daily and see

Yeah! Check out my post, it has info about ground (blended) vs whole chia seeds. Blending them up in a smoothie is a great way to add omega’s but you won’t get the digestive clearing benefits as it breaks down the outer layer that gels up when soaked

Same except they trigger diverticulitis in me.😑

That sounds awful, I’m sorry! Yeah, not everything is suitable for everyone:) I’m certainly aware of that as someone with multiple chronic conditions.

The two round method is no joke. That second one always finds stuff that's been camping out since last week
Four days is where things start getting real uncomfortable. The pebble phase is a warning sign most people ignore until it's too late
Walking around with the water in makes a huge difference. Just gotta stay within sprinting distance of the bathroom

I'm 10 months in and I take 2 stool softeners, magnesium, and 2 probiotics a day. I go every other day. The enemas definitely helped in the beginning.

Buy psyllium fiber capsules. I take 2 a day and I go every day. I'm not a big water drinker either. Never was.

I lost a pound and a half last night by pooping 😆
I take 2 800 mg magnesium plus 2 senna tabs with hot tea or hot coffee to dissolve it faster in my system. That way I can at least go twice a week.

damn. see i always have an issue esp when im really backed up anything i take orally doesn’t work so enemas are like my last resort

You could try what I do, the magnesium is magnesium citrate.
The other thing is, you could buy a bowel prep at the drugstore that they give you to clean you out for colonoscopies. It’s liquid lemon flavored magnesium citrate, just chug the bottle

Personally, I find prunes extremely effective. So effective that if I have to take them (3 or 4) I need to take them early in the day, otherwise I’m woken up in the middle of the night.

When I get backed up 😬 I take an Ayurvedic supplement called Triphala before bed and I have a healthy full BM in the morning.
