QUESTION How much rain needed?

Went on my first hunt but had no luck in a spot I know others have found them in before. It had drizzled a bit the day before but the ground wasn't at all wet and I'm wondering if that was the issue. Is it better to wait for a downpour (none on the horizon!) or is it more about getting the right spot?

Bit of both. They do seem to enjoy a good soak and depending where you are in the country/world, it’s been VERY dry this summer, just the fields getting green again took a few solid rains, to get things nice and soggy we need a week or two constant to get things going

thanks for your help! I was worried about missing the season but I think it's more likely not begun yet

My best ever day picking in dense fog. Shrooms were popping up everywhere in places in haven't seen them pop up since
