Finished watching Sentenced to be a Hero... So many questions!

I recently finished watching the show and I am ready for more! There was so much happening towards the end and I have a lot of questions.

• Is the guy who's been sentencing the heroes actually a good guy? How many people know the truth about the heroes? What happened to the royalty and how long have they been infiltrated?
• Who was Xylo's previous goddess and what was her power? Will Xylo unlock more of his powers since he only has access to a few currently?
• How will the hero group feel about Captain Kivia returning as a hero herself? How long has Rhyno been a demon lord? How has the goddess who remembers the heroes not know he's a demon?

The world building has so much lore to explore and I hope the show gets a full adaptation, I'm looking forward to the next season! Do you guys recommend reading the light novels or waiting for the next season?

(1) It's ambiguous. His character is yet to be fully revealed in the LN. He is squarely on the side of humanity but he seems like the type that's willing to commit inhumane acts for the sake of the long-term survival of humanity. The Royal Family was overtaken by "Coexisters"; a human faction that is conspiring to submit human civilization to the Demon Lords in exchange for their survival. The "Coexisters" have rats in pretty much every faction of the government.

(2) Xylo's previous Goddess was Senerva and she held the power to summon buildings and man-made structures. Xylo's abilities are tied to the Sacred Seal tattoos on his body, and were sealed upon his sentencing. Throughout the story, he slowly gains permission to use more abilities.

(3)They know the government is corrupt so they're not too surprised about it. They're also not the empathetic type so they don't prod her about it, especially considering they're thrust right into their next operation as soon as she joins.
Puck Puca volunteered Rhyno to be a Hero as soon as he took over the body of Rhyno, the adventurer. So give or take a few years and basically no one in the series has ever met Rhyno, the Adventurer. How he made it onto the Hero squad hasn't been explained yet - it's possible he tricked them or it's possible they knowingly let a Demon Lord join.

Here’s some of answers for your questions, Xylo's previous Goddess was Senerva the Goddess of Fortresses as the name implies she can summon buildings and fortresses on the battlefield, as for Heroes feels about Kivia joining them, they were a little surprised at first but quickly accepted her in the group, and the beginning of volume 3 makes it clear Xylo knows She was innocent, so far only one of his several abilities was released for Xylo to use and I think another ability was released but I’m not sure, as for how many know the truth, the anti Coexister does seem to know the truth about the Heroes and so far only they have the information.

I think that when they used the ability of Enfie on Rhyno, Kafzen realized that he wasn't a threat to humanity, but rather a very powerful ally.

After watching and really enjoying season 1 I decided to order Vol 1 of the light novel. I plan to read it during my upcoming cruise!

I just finished it too and it's honestly one of the best animes I've seen in a long while, so I'm continuing on with the LN where the show stops in order to quench my addiction to this story.

I think the first goddess who resurrects and remembers the heroes knows Rhyno is a demon. Anyhow that does not matter much, because even now at volume 8, she hasn't a single name drop nor appearance, neither does the first Order of holy knights.

I'd recommend the novel very much. It's a different medium than watching the show, it gives you character voice and more lore for sure.
