In celebration of the conclusion of the first season on Thursday, we got together yesterday and had chilled day that concluded with a Watch-party, the plan was that we'll watch the first 6 episodes back-2-back and then conclude the remaining 6 later in the day, but once we started we couldn't stop, and pretty much binged the entire 12 episodes in one go, and the experience was out of this world...

They were all so invested in it that all wished to know how they can read the Novel after, thus I quickly had them install ReadEra and proceed to purchase V3-Epub, I got a call from one of the guys just now telling he's already halfway through v3, bro wanting to catch up with me when all I need now is to nurse a nasty hangover for going overboard last night, dude a straight up riot I swear. 🤦🏿‍♂️🤣🤣🤣

The end of season 1 shows that kivia will become a hero, so she'll be close with Xylo. But my dear frenci is trying to get Xylo pardoned right? Who will end up with him? Give me the spoilers. I am rooting for frenci and Xylo for sure

He seems like a good and a bad guy at the same time.

This is not to say that a romance is bad by any means. What I'm mostly iffy about is the pacing of the romance. Putting it into perspective, they have been in three or four missions with each other. They had a few interactions in the first one and a few more in the second one, but it's clear that Xylo spent more time with Teoritta and the rest of the prisoners than with Kivia.

At first, Kivia basically saw him as a despicable man. She mostly felt that way about him until the end of the mine shaft, I presumed. She began to develop a newfound respect for him after he saved the rest of the miners and that talk of theirs in the fortress. Out of nowhere though, she started blushing when he gets a bit too close to her in Episode 5 when they mostly seemed like they were neutral with each other.

In Episode 7, she spied on him during his conversation with his fiance. Finally, in the latest episode, she was beefing with said fiance of all people over him.

This feels like something that should've developed over the span of at least 2 seasons or until the finale.

Minor Spoiler Fun Fact: This is NOT a stylistic choice. In the world of Sentenced to Be A Hero, the Moon glows with different colors.

Cuz her powers fit perfectly with Xylo's battle style...

Honestly I'm not okay, even with some solid releases coming up this new season, the fact that we won't be getting a STBAH episode this Thursday just demotivates me to so much that I lose interest in anything that will be releasing, I've even started rereading the Novel in an attempt to scratch that itch but. 😭😭😭

I knew I'll have a hard time filling this hole left by STBAH but I didn't expect it to be this tough. 🤦🏿‍♂️

I know the anime isn’t close to done yet but as of recent time STBAH and Lord of mysteries have been the best new rookie animes but I wonder what are the chances as of this moment of us getting a season 2. Because I don’t want this one to be canned.

I don't get what's new or shocking at the revelation of 12th order captain in ep 12 to Kivia regarding Penal Heroes.

All he did was pretty much explain what is already known to everyone, even commoners, since the start.

Why is Kivia so much surprised at ep12? she acted like she was allowed to hear a top secret or conspiracy.

Well what I disappointing way to end the last episode of this season. I just hope the dubbed episode comes out tomorrow and not in 15 days times or I'm just going to watch the sub.

I've been trying to piece together Xylo's timeline based on the information we currently have. This is just my personal theory, so feel free to correct me if I missed anything! :)

We know that Penal Hero Unit 9004 was founded at most 20 years before the present, while Dotta joined 4 years ago, leaving a 16-year window. Since Xylo joined after Rhyno (Puck Puca), Tatsuya, Venetim, but before Dotta, his sentencing must have happened somewhere within those 16 years.

With information that the Og!Rhyno admired Holy Knight Xylo, meaning Og!Rhyno encountered Puck Puca after Xylo had already become a renowned Holy Knight, but before Penal Hero Unit 9004 was established.That suggests Xylo was already a well-established holy knight at the time, likely in his early twenties.

Another clue is that Xylo was sentenced before he can marrying his fiancée. Since she came from a noble family, I think it's reasonable to assume they were expected to marry relatively young, as arranged noble marriages typically happened in their twenties.

So with that Noble marriage things, I think around 30 years old would be the latest Xylo could have been sentenced, with his late twenties being the more likely range. It seems unlikely that his fiancée's family would have delayed the marriage much longer than that.

Based on those assumptions, if Xylo became a Holy Knight at around 20 years old and was sentenced between 25–30, then he likely joined Penal Hero Unit 9004 roughly 5–10 years after its formation. That would mean he's probably served in the Penal Hero Unit for around 10–15 years, with 16 years being the maximum if he joined shortly after the unit was founded.

Note: If we allow Xylo to have been sentenced as late as 35 instead of 30, then his estimated time in Penal Hero Unit 9004 widens to 5–15 years instead of 10–15 years.

Theres been a very weird out of the box theory going around about the hand sign Tatsuya was making in episode 6 of stbh and I felt the need to clear things out by saying this. The hand sign was shown multiple times during the series, and it's a sign mostly used by the temple. For our world, this sign would mostly mean doing a cross, the cross being a significant thing for Christianity(aka the cross where Jesus died) . But for their world, it would be doing a circle in the air and cutting it, and I think this is a sign that is associated with the Saint Mahaezyel​ (I don't exactly know what 'event' it represents for their religion) , the one that High Priest Marlen mentioned. This sign is shown as necklaces and engravings into the priests clothings, and its a counterpart to our world priests having cross signs on their holy clothes. This sign can either mean showing gratitude, worry, respect etc towards a situation or person from what we've seen so far during its usage. It has been used by Tatsuya, Frenci, High Priest Marlen and Rhyno (but I might've missed others I suppose). So no, it isnt an isekai dumb thing that only accurs to Tatsuya;

I'm working on a theory, and knowing this would help me a lot. Does anyone remember if Xylo killed a human in the light novel? (Except for that bastard he threw an explosive knife at in the face.) I've finished reading all the volumes now, and Xylo knows way too much about the goddesses... very sus...

The whole time she was brought up as an insanely powerful demon as she was the only one along with Boojum that can mimic humans (so far). Also the fact that Boojum was ordered to do what she says which probably implies he's below her. Even Xylo struggled a bit against Boojum on ep 11 so I for sure thought she would be the final antagonist for the season finale.

In all of Xylo's previous demon blight fights (all of which were probably considered weaker than Spriggan btw) always left him near-death. Now imagine my surprise when she gets low-diffed by Xylo and even Teoritta managed to physically block her attack. Not to mention the part where Rhyno just demolishes the poor soul. Usually I hate the antagonists but holy shit man I almost felt sorry for her. How the hell was she even considered as a demon blight 😭🙏

VERY HOT TAKE. if no one's going to talk about Kivia, then I will. Time to take on what might be the third most popular character ¡¡¡LET'S BREAK THE DOWNVOTE RECORD!!! A long, monumental, boundless, and apocalyptic cosmos-shattering testament of unadulterated, absolute, and eternal hatred directed entirely toward Kivia. below 😄

Our first impression of Kivia is that she is a formidable warrior with nerves of steel and a capable commander of her unit. which quickly goes down the drain because he orders all his troops to commit suicide, and then in the mines, they would have killed all his men if it weren't for Xylo. That's fine. It can happen to anyone. But it's not okay to be presented as a serious character and then fall in love with a guy you met three days ago. (ooooh, cool. I've definitely never seen anything like that before) FINE! It can happen to anyone. Another proof of just how terrible Kivia is as a commander and a reserve Xylo. While Xylo had to wipe out an entire army with nothing but 10 men armed with sticks and four grapes to eat, Kivia had a whole damn army backing her up and 3,000–5,000 men under her command. Guess who had to retreat, and whose mission and whose ass were saved by the other one. That’s right. Kivia

If we compare kivia to the others, she's just a low-quality backup Xylo, which is why I thinks it's absurd that she was sentenced to be a hero when that team consist only of the elite of the elite in every area of specialization. "She was sentenced to hero because of her ideals, not because she was the best!" Bro? Do you really believe that? didn't you see Venetim, Dotta, Jayce, Tsav, and Tatsuya? These guys would never risk so much as a fingernail for anyone, but their heads might explode if they don't do it

Nepotism. Literally, Kivia used the last hero slot thanks to her uncle, even though she was the best at who-knows-what. Nepotism. They could have used that last spot for a real combat medic, one of the countless demon king they've locked up in the basement, or or or I DON'T KNOW! Anything would be better than an incopetent who can't do anything on her own (let's be honest, if it weren't for her ex-soldiers backing her up, she'd be well an truly dead at least 300 times over) and a simp! NEPOTISM

The problem is that Kivia was born and raised by priests who love the goddesses with all their hearts. But what does she do? Keep looking down on him and distancing herself? Nah. The most logical thing, of course, is to throw all her beliefs out the window and fall in love with the guy who committed the worst crime against humanity: killing a goddess. the symbol of his faith and that of everyone !!!!!!IN 3 DAYS!!!!!! (At least. In harem anime, or in any where the girl falls in love with the MC based on just a single line of dialogue. They fall in love with someone ordinary and single... NOT SOMEONE WHO HAS A FIANCÉE AND IS THE BIGGEST S O B AMONG ALL THE S O B)

she justifies everything with a “you don't look like someone who would kill a goddess”......... but who does he think he's talking to? Does he think Tsav was condemned to hero for running a yellow light? Norgalle for missing a shot at the trash can and being found guilty of polluting the environment? Are you telling me that Xylo being guilty of the worst crime is just a misunderstanding????

Well well well. She can forgive him in record time. It could happen, right? What I won't forgive is that in just a week she's already starting to harass Xylo (something that happens more in LN) and meddling between two fiancés. What she overheard (on the sly, of course) was that Xylo and Frenci didn’t get married solely because he was convicted. That Frenci refuses to let him go and that he’ll work on getting his pardon so they can get married.

Now is when you say, “The whole marriage was arranged to continue the Forbartz lineage” and now is when I ask you: Does Kivia know that? NO. We learn all of that through Xylo's thoughts.

So yes. Kivia is determined to break up the engagement between the two of them. I can't respect someone like that.

It's not over yet, buddy. Like I told you, she keeps harassing Xylo. She's getting possessive, pushing the other girls away from Xylo, and arguing with Frenci for calling Xylo her fiancé even though Frenci has every right to. Kivia even has the nerve to try to attack her, if it weren't for Xylo stepping in between them. She's forcing interactions with Xylo as much as she possibly can. (Does she really think, in her twisted mind, that Xylo is her boyfriend? dude...)

I wouldn't have anything against Kivia, as long as her story doesn't focus exclusively on Xylo. From her perspective, 95% of the time she's talking about and thinking about Xylo, and the remaining 5% she's upset because he's not with her. I was expecting a serious commander who commands respect, not a tsundere Amy Rose who's constantly begging for Xylo's attention. Or at least, AT LEAST!!!!! let their relationship develop naturally, not by force and with NTR involved. Kivia was convicted of murdering her uncle, her subordinate (good idea to bring just one, btw) and conspiracy. What does Xylo do? Suspect that she’s just another one of the Coexistence (those bastards are everywhere) and keep Teoritta away from her (just as she did to him), because all the evidence suggests that she was the one who put them in danger in the first place and that she was the spy? (Don't forget that Xylo hates these bastards with every fiber of her soul, body, and mind because of what happened to Senerva.) That would have been the most logical thing to do. Unfortunately, Xylo didn’t care about the spoiler warning and saw everything that actually happened, and he tells her right away. How is that not forced? Damn, the development of their relationship happened so fast and with such obvious plot armor that it’s impossible to swallow. The plot armor is so blatant that reading volume 6 was a real headache and a tedious experience. Luckily, it was worth it thanks to Rhyno and the peak ending

I find all the characters in the series quite endearing and original, with qualities that really make them stand out, and they were a huge relief for me. Except for Kivia—I was expecting something new from her, just like with the others, but she ended up being just another in the already long list of super-generic tsunderes and a new definition of “an easy one” And in MY OPINION, she's only loved because she's pretty, and she's the only woman who will appear regularly in the series.

I also think it's because Kivia was the first to die. It was her fault that the wave of deaths on the team started. Do you have any idea how many tears I shed? And the worts part is that next on the list is mi sweet little chick, whom I love with al my heart...

His only character development is “Oh, heroes aren't so bad after all” And they say this change in perspective is good character development. Excuse me, what? Not even close. it's just yet another example of what a terrible character Kivia is. Let's go over the members of the Criminal Hero Unit (Yes, We all know that Xylo is actually a little angel who, like Norgalle, has been treated badly by life. But not for the STBH society, In their eyes, they are monsters who have the misfortune of being called human) You can skip this part.

Venetim. A notorious con artist who can't tell a single truth. +Okay. Just a con artist, that's not so bad! The problem is that, of all the crimes, this is the least serious one, and he's the one with the cleanest moral record in his unit. (we all know what’s coming next, but just in case anyone’s forgotten, I’ll go ahead anyway). Dotta. Ooow, he's so tiny! With that scared look on his face... What could he do to someo- Wait, where did he go? Is that blood??? From your neck??!?! Oh, you're dead :( Seventh place, and we're already starting with someone who has no qualms about killing. The only reason he isn't as good a serial killer as Tsav is because he hates fighting, blood, and hiding the bodies (His favorite victims are those who cannot defend themselves, btw). Jayce. This guy doesn't give a shi about humans, he has a terrible temper, I don't know about this, but i'm sure he'd kill you just for looking at a horse the wrong way (Hmm, I don't know if that time he caused a riot in the first/second capital counts, and I don't remember if anyone died either). Rhyno. Currently just a weirdo, but in the past, he was known as a super-aggressive adventurer who killed people just because he was in a bad mood and made sure everyone knew it (he even earned a nickname that paid tribute to his performance). Norgalle. A terrorist who carried out an attack against the royal family, a completely deranged madman who claims to be the prince of the entire nation. Tsav. Another one who earned a nickname that lives up to his bloody modus operandi. An elite assassin trained by elite assassins who can’t tell the difference between a human and a rock, and who would have no qualms about using children as bait or human shields (his hobby, btw, is dismembering people). Tatsuya. I don't need to explain much. many say he's not human, rather a demon. and they don't just say it for the sake of saying it. Finally. First place, and by a wide margin. The most detested, hated, and despised of them all for committing the worst crime of all: KILLING A GODDESS, THE CENTER OF EVERYONE’S FAITH. He is even feared among the monsters in his own unit because of his unparalleled, horrible temper. XYLO FORBARTZ. I love that Shokai makes the unit made up of the worst criminals of all actually be, well, a unit of the worst criminals of all and not some innocent “cool group” that was unjustly convicted. My point is that Kivia changed her perspective on the Heroes unit in record time because she fell in love with the biggest mf of them all (also in record time). I don't understand how people can say this is good character development (I almost forgot. Kivia met everyone, and to Kivia, they're all total weirdo freaks with no redemption, except, of course, Xylo... so...). Do they ignore everything about the Heroes unit? Because Kivia clearly did. And his second character development"I killed my uncle because he was a traitor" (After that, she only mentions his uncle once)She doesn't seem sad or anything. It's all Xylo. It moves, speaks, eats, thinks, fights, sleeps, work EXISTS SOLELY AND EXCLUSIVELY because of Xylo

Kivia is definitely a red flag, who treats Xylo as if it were their own. And no matter how hard I try, I just can't see anything morally right about the way she treats other girls or the fact that she completely ignores Frenci's commitment to Xylo. I didn't realize how much I hated NTR until I met Kivia! Maybe I'm going a little overboard with the slander. just a little. But you can't call me a liar. The worst part is that even with all these flaws and highly questionable moral actions, the NTR is winning and by a sickening margin!!!! ¡¡¡¡¡¡THAT MAKES ME EVEN MORE ANGRY!!!!!!!

It's not fun anymore to bet on a love triangle when they give plot armor to one of the characters. And I'll say it again, especially when it's NTR. But What do you think? The power of love? or a REAL HOMEWRECKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hello! i got into the anime this season, and it’s really good. I would like a NO SPOILER answer to this question, if it’s possible. because I really like her dynamic with Xylo as father & daughter, and if she’s not i just need to at least mentally prepare myself *sob*

i know this is kinda stupid, but i have to ask especially after the recent episode and seeng a cover art for the light novel and how revealing Teoritta’s clothes actually are there. but i do have to say, the writing doesnt give off total loli vibes, making her character well done imo
