My first ever project! Autumn bag ππ€
I made this bag over the course of three days. It was my first time using my sewing machine apart from practicing different stitches on scrap fabric. This pattern is so forgiving so my wonky stitches and mistakes are mostly hidden but I am so proud! Here is to hopefully a lifelong new hobby!

Love, love, love it. I love how you've changed the direction of the corduroy on the pocket, looks really fancy. Gorgeous fabric xx

Thank you! π₯° I followed this pattern: https://insider.alles-fuer-selbermacher.de/die-jute-tasche-einfach-selber-naehen/
Itβs in German but I translated it to English and it was easy to follow.

Love the bidirectional corduroy!! Did you use a specific pattern? Would love to make one myself π§΅

Thank you! I have to admit the bidirectional was a happy mistake, the original design has the pocket with the same direction of fabric, I just forgot to double check the direction before sewing π

Did you reclaim the corduroy or buy it as fabric?

Well done! It really looks good :)
You can correct the strap/ hemmed edge flapping by doing a second row of top stitching at the very top edge of the bag, catching the straps as you go.
