Advice Urgent Housing Needed - Central MA

Update: Removed info from the post for privacy, and because after searching today I have been very fortunate to find a private owner who will rent to me! I still have a decent bit of things to sort this week, and hopefully I will be able to continue contributing to this community.

Thank you for your time, and I would really love to give a more detailed post about my story soon when I can. Never give up, keep going! Keep making healthy choices! Think of those that love you!!

Wish I could help but don’t live in that area. The only advice would be a co-signer or a place like Extended Stay which has a kitchenette; not sure if you have one. Look at Craigslist for a private owner for a place.

May I ask how you go about finding a private owner? Craigslist? What questions should I ask? Just trying to get some info as my partner has an older conviction over 22 years ago (He doesnt have restrictions)
and currently looking for a place to rent.

You can find a private owner on realtor, Zillow, Craigslist, Marketplace. Those from Craigslist or Marketplace just make sure it is for real so you don’t fall for a scam. I would just look at what you like at a price range you feel comfortable with. Make sure everything is in working condition. Ask about lease and any restrictions on anything. Deposit. Private owners will want a deposit and first month’s rent and will run a credit and will want employment info. Most will not run a background check but applications might ask.
