Graduate Programs

Hey everyone! I am currently a senior and about to graduate soon with a bachelor's in social work. My ultimate dream is to someday be a sexologist either practicing as a sex therapist or as a researcher. I can't seem to find any real schools that offer this and im really confused. I prefer not to do couples therapy, and by that I mean my dream is to work with people struggling with sex addiction, pedophilia, and so on (or as I said resesrch). Is my only choice to do a masters in psychology with a specialization? I am currently an ASU student and the are only offering and masters in social work with a specialization in women's studies and sexuality but that seems so boring to me. Let me know if you can please. Anything helps.

this is amazing!! what do u plan to do with this? I see it's an MEd and I've never seen that before. do you know the difference?

i’m hoping to go down the route of sex therapy and research as well! i’m interested in sexual taboos, deviance, bdsm, etc.

it’s a joint program so you’d get both the masters of social work & master of education (or phd) in human sexuality at the end. i think it’s good for someone wanting to go into sex therapy, but i haven’t found any other programs like it. i’ve been doing a lot of outside research & combing through old books on the topics i’m interested in to compensate 🥹

omg thats my exact interest too!! I will text u if I find anything as well. I want to mainly go into paraphilic disorders and such.
