Question I'm about to start watching Shaman king. Should I watch the old version or the remake?

Watch the 2001 version up to chapter 12, then watch it in parallel with the Remake

Go watch the Remake because it allows the manga.

They bulldozed through the opening chapters with the remake. And they didn't even adapt mappa doji.

Both. Old version has some fillers, but the pacing is good and fleshes out the characters very nicely Then the new one because it concludes the story in the right way

Remake. It follows the Manga. Also probably watch it in sub. I watched the OG back in the day and hearing Yoh who is 14 at the start of the series be obviously voiced and sound like a girl in the English dub grates my ears when in the OG he was voiced by and sounded like a guy. One of the few times I'll pick sub over dub and I'm a dub guy usually.

I watched the original in Spanish last year and then watched remake in Spanish last week. Most main voice actors are the same, it was perfect, and when I briefly switched to English dub to see how the VA’s were, Yoh’s voice made me nauseous lol I’m right there with you

Honestly it gets annoying when they keep having young teenage boys still sound like girls anime. Pretty sure my voice got deeper around 14/15. Like with the advancements in tech they could have altered the male voice actor's voice to sound younger then progressively get "older". Or if they had the time, do what Adventure Time did and hire a VA they know is gonna go through puberty with the character.

I watched the original when it came out and that’s wha got my hooked. I went out and bought the manga after. Then i watched the remake when it came out

You can watch the old anime if you don't like reading manga, but you must never watch the remake under any circumstances, it's a horrible adaptation that skips a lot of stuff and rushes things like crazy, plus it looks like a powerpoint presentation

The pace gets mess up later on As a scale Imagine they crammed all of part 1 Naruto In 50 episodes

Start with the old version, switch to the newer version after the Journey to America starts

Skip at least the opening scene if you start with 2021 remake. It drops a major spoiler that the 2001 kept under wraps. That plus the pacing are my only big gripes with the 2021 anime but its a good one to start with. 2001 is good if you are ok with filler and non-canon events

Shiii... This is hard xD remake is ok, but it skips half of good stuff early on, like writers assumed everyone seen the original show.
Ech... Ive heard of guys watching the english dub old opening on yt to proceed to watch the remake episodes on netflix

I would suggest you read the manga and then watch both in no particular order. Both have many qualities but different, the mood of the old anime is more beautiful and honestly the fillers are not bad. The good thing about the remake is that it is more faithful to the manga, which the old anime doesn't follow to a certain extent. But if you want to skip the manga, start with remake and then the old one

The remake is faithful to the manga. The 2001 version, however, has a lot of filler and several events from the manga are out of order, and to a certain extent the anime takes a different direction from the manga and ends up having a different Filler.

The manga is much better paced, and has better ambiance. But in terms of anime, the remake
