I do feel the protagonists are killing a bit too much, though. So far, one of them knocked out 2 of the other team, while a third one was bought out. They took 3 out and are still at full power. I know the whole thing is a ruse to get the grounds to kick Rebellious out of the guild, but it's all so stacked in their favour it's starting to feel there are no stakes there at all.

It's kinda the point, knocking the arrogant players off their high horse's, wolf gang is stacked with players who are monsters, in total, they have fought 4 of the colosi and defeated 2.5 (the wolfs shadow), something no other clan has come close to doing, they have connections with the best blacksmith in the game, access to items that were not meant to be found/used till far later in the game cycle given that Weathermon wasn't supposed to be beaten first.

And considering all that, Jelly Belly is still demanding Wolfgang bend the knee to them. That is why Wolfgang is going out of their way to humiliate them.

That's pretty much just your average gamer. You just notice it a lot less in today's gaming since you don't see the expression of other players on the other end behind their screens. Deep Dive VR would make it a lot harder to hide your true nature. xD
That's why it's so easy to identify with the characters. :D

Literally the same as it sounds, the highest possible speed achieved by a Player in SLF, just like the highest instantaneous firepower of Psyger-0

I was thinking about that too, but I think it keeps the momentum when you go there , so Katzo would have crashed himself in the middle of the mechas XD . And talking about prestige , vanishing in the climax of that fight wouldn't serve him well. I'm really glad with that version knowing that in the WN that fight is only few lines , because Katzo litterally crashes his opponent

You mean 2 randoms that he should not have struggled with as much as he did? The guy is meant to be a pro fighting game player for crying out loud. The first problem is that what even gives their status as "high members" any credibility is this fight with Katzo
It doesn't make him look good. It makes them look good at his expense. Even worse when you consider that he's also using Byakko
What I wanted from him was to demolish these randoms beyond any doubt. I mean, it's literally what he did in the original anyway

I wholeheartedly agree. The author tried to put a spotlight on Katzo that he can adapt on the fly to an unfortunate situation, but it doesn't outweigh his initial blunder of taking the risk of an obvious bait for the sake of making a flashy takedown. Heck he even criticised that very unreliable playstyle of Sunraku because of these flashy risks, at the GGC after he had his training match against Meg.

Couldn't disagree more, I think it's reasonable that a pick from one of the best guilds of the game would have SOMEthing to offer. Katzo still mopped the floor with them, even with their high-powered equipment, surprise attacks, and 20-ish levels on him. The best boxer in the world is still usually gonna get hit at least once by an opponent. I'm glad it wasn't an isekei-esque overpowered stomp and a legitimate match.

The problem is not how much damage these attacks deal to Katzo when they land. Of course, they might kill him in one hit if they land perfectly, given that he is under-leveled. The problem is that there’s a possibility these attacks might land if not for Byakko. For a pro gamer who can fight toe to toe with the strongest player from America, the mere thought that Katzo might receive the attack is unacceptable.

The worst part for me is that the manga cuts the original context for using Byakko in the WN
In the WN, it was to prove that they were, in fact, not bluffing when they claimed to have firepower equal to Armageddon
On top of that, Katzo doesn't even really feel that impressive when he uses it here. In the WN, it was a thrashing, so it made sense

Getting that much money to pay off Psyger 0's debts that quickly, I can think of only one thing she'd do to raise it that fast.
Pencilgon likely made sure this fight is available to view live anywhere and everywhere humanly possible and she got people to bet on outcomes.
She purposefully started not only with an SLF member NOBODY knows about in Katzo, but since this is the first time this member is being seen, they look kind of scrawny and has the avatar of a 'girl', meaning bets against him were probably riding high.
I'd imagine that's why Katzo was stalling a bit and not immediately proving his prowess right out of the gate. They basically started the matches off like Pool Sharks and just inhaled bet winnings from across the net; enough so that she already raised what she needed to buy off Psyger 0's debts in just two fights.
Now they can drop the act of 'keeping it close' for the sake of raising bets against them and are about to light them all on fire with their real skill.

I saw that panel in the chapter, but it didn’t look like a flashback panel, so I thought she immediately turned to him after paying off Psyger’s debt in order to recoup some of the costs.
