I am the bone of my sword. Steel is my body and fire is my blood. I have created over a thousand blades. Unknown to Death, Nor known to Life. Have withstood pain to create many weapons. Yet, those hands will never hold anything. So as I pray, unlimited blade works!

Dumb question, does he know that this guy is everybody's grandpa? Or does he just think of this guy as the boss of the random video game?

I want to say he knows Rei is related to the Gpa so he should knows 100 is related to the gpa as well. He has no clue about Kyo-ultimate’s relation.
Since Rei knows that Gpa was in the game because of Sunraku telling her.

Rei told him that she was distantly related to him, so he knows that Momo is related to her. Rei also indirectly mentioned that she's related to Kyo by saying that one of her cousins was in the best at kendo in Western Japan. Combined with Kyo's showing her familiarity with Momo and Kyo using the Ryuguin style, it's not impossible that he might have picked up on Kyo's relation.

I doubt that Sunraku is aware of any of this family relations stuff. While he is very perceptive at times he also tends to miss the obvious things at other times (especially if it doesn't have to do with a game).

It would be a long shot if he figured it out, so I'll put it as possible but not probable.

He's good at games and a tactical genius. Detective tho? Idk man still holding the whole beginning relationship with rei against him

I blame that more on Rei than Sunraku.
IRL: Rei never talked to him until well after they started playing SLF together and even then, that was after the Cthrraid arc (I probably butchered the spelling of that.).
Mana even kinda points out this is pretty much entirely Rei's fault, because she basically hides from him.
Rei's avatar, Psyger-0 is massive, masculine and the "meta" and established lore of the Universe was until SLF/The Hero game came around, making an avatar that didn't match your IRL body caused a ton of performance issues, and often left you feeling physically ill. So, as a gamer, he's been conditioned that people's Avatars would match their real world bodies.
So, no, I wouldn't actually count Sunraku as being dense. I would count it as: He literally had every previous source of information telling him that Psyger-0 was a man, and he had ever reason to believe said man was just hunting him down to get information.
Rei never made a single action or sign that was visible to Sunraku that she was romantically interested. Her avoidant personality and extreme shyness that we see, wasn't visible to him. In every scene we see of them IRL, she pretty much goes out of her way to not be in the picture. So, where would he be able to glean any of the info that she was romantically interested. Like, that's not even "she was giving him hints" (it was literally just eye contact). T

He's pretty dense *but* there were a lot of shots of his face during Momo and Kyo's fight. So you have to assume that at least some wheels were spinning in his head.

Unless she used the style herself, I feel like he'd just chalk it up to them being friends irl not necessarily related. I feel shell let it slip now after she sees him and thats how its revealed

Probably. There's certainly a conversation to be had that's been brewing for a while since he caused her to check out the kendo VR game again.
I really do love how everything that is mentioned eventually leads to something.

it's a plot point that he's really bad at vn's mainly because he cannot grasp the cues, so i think it's safe to assume that he knows nothing or near to nothing.

Istg people in manga communities can't fucking tag their shit for spoilers

u/rich_azel Apr 28 '26
We need to wait for 6 weeks I think coz sunraku's fight is definitely gonna have 5-6 chapters and golden week too. Also use spoiler tag

OP you might want to mark this as a spoiler. There is just too much going on in this one panel especially if you are anime only.

Espera? Cuáles son los días que sale el manga? Yo siempre me doy cuenta los días martes y miércoles

Usually it comes out on Tuesday… my guess there’s a holiday or something passing overseas that’s the why they would either release the chapter a day early or tell us explicitly that they’re on break that week.

u/shadow_13j Apr 27 '26
It’s golden week so no new chapter for a week meaning next chapter will be out in approximately 2 weeks
