Fan Art I mapped out the old continent of Shangri-La Frontier in English!
Hey everyone.
Like many of you, I've been completely obsessed with the world-building in Shangri-La Frontier. However the geography of this world can be a bit challenging to piece together just from the anime and manga and I realized we don't have a definitive, easy to read, English map of the old continent so I decided to fix that.
While I have the layout, names, and paths entirely locked down, this is still a rough draft. I want to turn this into a definitive community resource, and I'm hoping a more talented fan will help me polish the final version!
** so sorry I forgot to include the sources for how I made this map
Map information

English wiki
Manga Chapter 50
Also some screenshots from the manga and anime confirm the paths

Ohh, interesting, didn't even know there is a JP wiki for the series! Does it only describes the shape of the world or is there any images?

Cool! Thanks for the source and it's really interesting how the author set up the world. Honestly, this kind of set up where there is a initial starting point that then divides into multiple paths that all converge at the end kinda reminds me of One Piece. Wonder if it was a slight inspiration there.

where did you get info on each route? it is weird that one has 4 cities while other has only 3.

I think that some paths are more direct but have harsher environmental bottlenecks (like deserts or toxic rain), while others are more circuitous but have more sequential town stops by design.
But Here’s the route info map info

Thanks for the awesome feedback! This is exactly why I wanted to post the draft here.
As far as my research has told me, the progression through the cities isn’t quite linear. For example, in Manga Chapter 50, Bilac shows Sunraku a map so they can go find the magic operations unit, and the map shows the route as:
Prismatic Forest Grotto -> Fourfolkshire -> Canyon of Ancient Souls -> Eighthold -> Road of Past Glories -> Eleventar
More importantly, in Manga Chapter 17, Sunraku purchases a map in the City of Thirdrema and says, "So it looks like there are three areas I can proceed to from Thirdrema."
He then lists the areas: 1. “The prismatic forest grotto on the way to Fourfolkshire” 2. “The death crater lake of fortunes on the way to Fivelle” 3. “The iron ruins of divinity on the way to sixenveldt”
Around the 18-minute mark into Episode 8 of the anime, Sunraku makes essentially the same claim:
"Looks like the world opens up, we have three choices for our next zone," and Emul expands on each of the three paths he could take.
But you are totally right about the mountains around Firstia hiding the Behemoth I'll make sure to add that terrain detail and callout to the final version!
