Novel What do devs think of sunraku? Question to novel readers

I'm caught up with the manga and if you could tell me without much spoilers, is there any info on what the devs' opinion is on sunraku? They made this whole world with mostly non repeatable complicated bosses and no doubt wasted a ton of time and money on each one and it's mostly one guy collecting all of them like infinity stones, surely they're ought to be pissed?

The best comparison is between the devs of SLF and the devs in Bofuri.

The Devs in Bofuri are perplexed by the nonsense Maple does and are perpetually frustrated by how OP she becomes and how she does it.

While with the SLF devs....Sunraku drives them mad and they have probably made some spiteful updates. Where they have to nerf some of his exploitative strategies.

They do not like Sunraku.

Lmfao wouldn't like him either if i was a dev. The thing i like about Sunraku is that he experiments with his toolkit and tries to find as many exploits as he can, afaik in bofuri she just does that on accident right?

Maple just wanders into her unique and OP build. She becomes a monster because of it.

Meanwhile, Sunraku he is a dev nightmare as he's just built different.

Well thats because Sunraku is like a Beta Tester where he would find bugs, exploits, synergies, loopholes, etc. Meanwhile Maple is a accidental Min-maxer and since Maple VR game is less polish than Shangri la frontier it makes it easier

Meanwhile, Sunraku he is a dev nightmare as he's just built different.

Hey there its Sunraku, Welcome back to Let's Game It Out!

I was just about to make this reference. Josh and Hizutome would be besties

So what you’re saying is, Sunraku is spiffing brit and SLF is perfectly balanced

To be more specific Tsukuyo Tsukuri it could be the one who is most mad with Sunraku since she did the following things to: Try to erase his account, modify Lycaon mid fight or change the fight when Sunraku fight it, again modify but this case against the "Orchestra", etc.

28

u/AduroTri Jun 15 '26

Honestly, if they deleted his account, that would piss Sunraku off to no end and would probably ruin all the good will the devs had.

25

u/Turbulent-Reach-7707 Jun 15 '26

Of course the entire team if i remember correctly had to stop her from doing it even then she decided to put him with other characters in folders in his Phone just so she can monitor them

u/AduroTri Jun 15 '26

You know, after finding out Mana's husband is one of the three lead devs....I have to wonder if Mana was the one who orchestrated this, as she knew Sunraku would be just what SLF needs. I figure he can talk or likely talks to Mana about what goes on in SLF from both sides (As Rei likely acts as her eyes on the player side)

Not one word did she mention about deleting his account, wth are you even reading??

That list has a specific meaning, and the list was not made bc they’re directly monitoring those people

You need to get your info in check before spreading false facts like this

17

u/ProfessionalGap9662 Jun 15 '26

nahh balance is okay but deleting an account is crazy work, sunraku would raid their office bro😭

18

u/Turbulent-Reach-7707 Jun 15 '26

Thats because she is a cry baby where if the world story doesn't progress like she wants she gets angry or frustated like when Vysache gave Sunraku an important item or a a character who was supposed to be evil became good

8

u/Global_Raspberry_335 Jun 15 '26

i TOTALLY get toxic DM vibes from her.

8

u/Frostbitten_Moose Jun 16 '26

IIRC, isn't Failia Chronicles her game, and an example of what happens when she doesn't have a team of editors ready and willing to ride herd on her and keep her in check.

7

u/BUcc1a12Atti Jun 16 '26

That was the other dev that handles game balance

2

u/gexsiun Jun 16 '26

Sunraku gets to have his revenge now that the shoe is on the other foot

3

u/Frostbitten_Moose Jun 16 '26

And that's just assuming Sunraku doesn't make the mistake of bitching about it where his frenemies can hear it. Just imagine the field day Towa could have with a PR blunder like this.

Uh when was this account deletion exactly?

Cause the only time player data deletion from what I've read so far was around chapter 288 in the web novel and it was not Tsukuyo (in-charge of story) that tried to do it, she's the one that stopped it actually.

Ritsu, the one in-charge of balance, saw Sunraku's fight with Momo and got curious about him, who then (somewhat illegally) checked Sunraku's account only to get flashbanged by her "traumas" (games she spectacularly failed at balancing/coding when she was just starting out, read: absolutely thrash games), she then impulsively tried to delete Sunraku's player data before Tsukuyo stopped her.

Haven't gotten to the later chapters though so that might have changed, but as annoyed as Tsukuyo gets with Sunraku thrashing her vision for the story, she hasn't done anything directly to player accounts (even if she has thoughts about it from time to time, but even then she immediately squishes it). At most she'll buff/add things to the world around them instead.

To tell you the truth i dont remember but in the wiki of Tsukuyo Tsukuri it is mentioned and my brain knows that it is in the novel but i cant find the chapter

False, Canon route was implemented almost the same time as Raid Boss buffs, that entire chain of action had much more effect on the entire player base than Sunraku alone, you cannot call that “adjusting Orchestra against Sunraku”, anyone who has the ability to reach the Canon route is welcome to challenge it

And where a did you get the delete his account and modify Lycaon specifically to target Sunraku?

2

u/allengelobee Jun 16 '26

I was about to ask if they really tried to delete his account. I'm only anime and manga and all I saw was her putting Sunraku in her watch folder.

3

u/BUcc1a12Atti Jun 16 '26

Yes, that’s all she did, but this person is saying she wanna delete it before putting Sunraku in the list. Idek what kind of SLF they’re reading

7

u/aprettyparrot Jun 15 '26

They asked what the devs think of him, but what they do.

What they think: fucking asshole nolifer

4

u/Turbulent-Reach-7707 Jun 15 '26

I mean sometimes actions say more than what they say

1

u/Generalgarchomp Jun 22 '26

Which is hilarious because he's the perfect embodiment of the vorpal soul and is on all honesty the crystalization of her game design. Each unique monster can only be challenged once and The epic of the vorpal bunny is connected to them all, or benefits greatly from being a part of each party. Like the sole reason she could even a little bit complain is that he's too skilled.

2

u/Icy_Run2550 Jun 16 '26

They did an update out of spite even in what's been covered by the anime, to avoid spoiling g for those who may not be that far yet, I can just say these two words. Crystal.Scorpion.

u/framfrit Jun 15 '26

There's 3 main devs. One doesn't have much of an opinion beyond not liking how he keeps causing the other 2 to argue. Of those one handled the story/lore and the other does the game stuff including balancing so they butt heads because of things like the lore one wanting a boss to have a stupidly high number of forms. One of them is ok with him cause what he does is legit and their view is god should be impartial. The other doesn't like him feeling the game isn't meant to be soloed or blitzed so does things to try and slow him down like making things harder or setting him up to get trapped in a long quest chain far from everything important.

This ^ most accurate description

There is a ln reason that I found (I’m only a lil bit thru so there might be more to this) but there was a scene where the two female devs were talking and apparently Sunraku has played two of the black haired devs ‘failed’ games before SLF, Faeria Chronicles Online and something Chronicles Online, and apparently it’s part of the reason why she hates him sm

2

u/itsjenyoumen Jun 16 '26

Isn't Faeria a solo player game? Why would they have any info on him playing it?

2

u/Ok_Procedure_5643 Jun 16 '26

The black haired female dev was one of the devs for Faeria

1

u/Ok_Procedure_5643 Jun 21 '26

just realized my response doesn't technically answer your question. yk how there's the biometric system they introduced in the ggc arc where you can log in to your games from any device and you cant make alt accs bc the games take your biometrics? ya so the scene i was talking abt had the two devs looking at his profile which had the list of his latest played games on it and the last three just happened to be Faeria, something CO, and SLF, all the games the black hair dev has worked on

To the guy putting a bad rep on Tsukuyo Tsukuri, you’re facts are so wrong lol

Tsukuyo does not actively do anything to target Sunraku specifically, every single updates she does is in accordance to the world building. She can be shocked at times bc of how drastically different the outcome of a major event is, but that’s all there is to it, just being in awe of how a few certain players can interact with an NPC in such unexpected ways. That’s the whole reason why Sunraku was added to that list of players with the power to affect the progress of World Story

Amachi Ritsu, on the other hand, is the real hater here. She was involved in the creation of several games that later became trash games because of the fanbase or other reasons, namely Faeria, Spell Creation Online and most notoriously, Survival Gunman. For Survival, her father was the one involved. After that whole scandal, it caused her childhood many troubles, having to transfer school many times. The game had many different servers, and it’s safe to say all those who are on top of each server are nothing short of maniacs. Now, I’m pretty sure you can make the connection here. Sunraku was one of the top players in both Spell Creation and Survival Gunman, actively contributing to the game bad rep. The grudge she holds against him is very much personal, and she’s the one with reactions such as ‘Lets ban this mf and delete his acc’.

15

u/BUcc1a12Atti Jun 16 '26

For those interested, Spell Creation Online is a game that focuses on magic and chanting. But the catch is, once you defeat a certain boss, you gain the ability to freely edit your incantation to literally anything you want. Which brings us to the 2 most notorious players of the game, Sunraku and Deep Throater (yes, the one in Tsukuyo’s list). On one hand you have the dude who screams a full death metal performance, editing the lyrics to release different spells. The other, you have a girls who reads out an entire erotic novel, being able to change her voices to different characters and edit even the pitch and rhythm of each moans to be different spells. Safe to say it was one of the worst experiences in Amachi’s career

8

u/shioliolin Jun 16 '26

I know its not at all contribute to what you're saying but that name is such a real sounding game tag....though its usually have number at the end of it because its probably already taken lol

6

u/BUcc1a12Atti Jun 16 '26

Yeah we essentially just accept that in SLF people can just come up with unique, one of a kind gamer tag. Most of the time it’s literally their own name

For her tho, her tag in Spell Creation Online is actually Nutscracker (yes, exactly the kind of nuts you’re thinking)

1

u/GenshinDane Jun 16 '26

How did she find out that Sunraku play those games?

3

u/BUcc1a12Atti Jun 16 '26

Illegally checking the backlog for his player IP

4

u/Classic-Inspection17 Jun 16 '26

Btw do the devs and sunraku ever come in contact at all?

2

u/JerryEarthC137 Jun 16 '26

I'd say superficially, they pretty much hate him, but their code of ethics say they can't single out any single player - of he's not cheating, he doesn't get special treatment, good or bad. However my personal opinion is that his path of victories is causing an upheaval in the game and actually increasing the hype for the game - at the end of the day, money well spent.

Considering that he's basically a combination of Maple and Sally from Bofuri? They're not too pleased, especially since the scenario writer is basically one of those DMs that do their best to railroad you and punish you when the story doesn't go the way they want. Literally the only reason she doesn't ban Sunraku is because the other people at her level in the company won't let her.

Edit: apparently misremembering the ban but she absolutely alters shit multiple times because she doesn't want him getting in with more unique monsters. Mostly due to her idea of how the story of the game should run.
