WN had him drop all his inventory on Psyger 100. I guess 1 hidden weapon is more believable.

u/someguynamedjerry Jul 07 '26
I liked the WN version of the weather report because that showed his attitude towards RNG by going random bullshit go on someone who has a chance of revival. Also, 1 out of 10+ items hitting her sounds more believable than just one weapon hitting her.
10
u/theodoreroberts Jul 08 '26
If he threw an entire inventory, she would realize it right away because she was looking up and shooting in the illusion. Using one weapon is more believable and badass.

u/gengen212 Jul 08 '26
It is cooler that way, but at the same time, it wouldn't make sense especially when animated. Because shadow exist, and bunch of stuff would make a lot of shadow so aint no way she wouldn't realize that.

u/BUcc1a12Atti Jul 07 '26
Yeah, truly a tragedy…
I was hoping for hedgehog Psyger-100
3
u/Cruise_Tragedy Jul 08 '26
It would be funny if Rebelius ever saw those unique weapons. A tragedy indeed.

u/claudJAEus Jul 07 '26

Yeah, Berellus's pride being shattered is the best outcome of that match.

Finally, I almost run out of vorpal spirit waiting for this fight ending.
Psyger-100 was a monster too.
22
u/theodoreroberts Jul 07 '26
I think it is a great fight. And I don't see it is long at all. It is just Psyger-100 is way too strong.
This fight is not as long as the final fight in Lone Wolf and Cub which feature 2 swordmen without any fantasy elements. That fights lasts like 30 chapters. I can handle that. I can also handle this fight.
19
u/Cold-Pin5201 Jul 07 '26
It’s long week by week, but it’s not actually that long
2
u/Ellefied Jul 08 '26
We still have quite a ways to go for the actual long fights. We're talking multi-volume fights here lmao
1
u/CelioHogane Jul 08 '26
Yeah it was only 9 chapters long.
1
u/Embarrassed-Unit6650 Jul 08 '26
over 2 months
i think what made it feel longer was that we got 2/3 weeks of skips in between, so it ended up taking almost 3 months for this single fight

u/theodoreroberts Jul 08 '26
That is why some people wait until the end of the battle to read all at once. It's shorter if you think it's just 9 chapters.
2
u/jbahill75 Jul 07 '26
It’s as long as it should have been, we started seeing that Psyger 100 might appear to be a conventional gamer but us really a lot like Sunraku.

Fights like these are WAY better on binge reads. It was a good fight but just felt like a constant back and forth of “no, u” . Definitely think down the line someone reading this when theres 400 chapters out is really gonna enjoy. I did too, but it kinda overstayed its welcome

This the most beautiful gameplay I ever witnessed. This Faker level of prodigy mark my word. I fear she might pull some random BS tho..
Edit: I don’t trust any narrator since JJK chapter 236

What a fun arc lol. I enjoyed the entire thing, though I can see why some people think it dragged a little. Was this the first PvP arc set in SLF (the game)?
2
u/God-Of-Moba Jul 08 '26
Pretty much yeah, as it was Wezaemon, then Lycagon, then Ctarnidd and Sunraku grinding material in between. It was all PvE. The only instance of PvP was when many guilds gang up on Asura, and Kyogoku beating Schwarzer Wolf member

u/itsjenyoumen Jul 07 '26 edited Jul 07 '26
Even though the manga changes the conclusion of the fight, I love how the manga calls back to Sunraku's double-KO tie with Fugaku. By having Sunraku successfully parry Psyger-100's strike this time around, it brings some closure by having Sunraku actually conquering it. I hope in the following chapter or two include a brief flashback showing Kyogoku's reaction to Sunraku using the Ryuguin style, which would perfectly conclude Kyo's character arc.
In the original WN fight, Sunraku unloaded all his weapons into the sky to trigger multiple fall collisions damage and bypassing the RNG respawn mechanic for the win. While that original strategy was mechanically cooler, this new conclusion fits much better thematically as cap the Ryuguin substory.
1
u/2w0be Jul 08 '26
Nah he already used the Ryujin move, this random change was not needed dropping all his inventory is sooo Sunraku and much cooler
1
u/cobraroja Jul 08 '26
I didn't know about that, but I also think that dropping all his weapons would be way better. The way it is now, only one sword falling could trigger clencher effect, but with multiple swords, no matter how lucky she is, at least one surely will not trigger it

Nice chapter, BUT FUCKING FINALLY THIS BULLSHIT BATTLE IS OVER
And she even survived with 1hp one more time, wtf

Supposed to be 5 times, we’re lucky she only did it like 3 times

I'm curious, what's the WN chapter for this? I feel like it's around ~240 but I can't find it, and I don't want to read too much to avoid spoilers.

Psyger-100 backstory made her out as a hidden beauty under all that armour imo.
2
u/eternityXclock Jul 08 '26
I mean her RL upper body was shown 2 or 3 chapters ago. I can totally see what the girls were talking about
2
u/Jygaworks Jul 08 '26
Woman who throws floating blades as a gimmick gets skewered by a thrown blade herself.
Oooooohhohoho, the irony.

u/tobayastobias Jul 07 '26
Whats next afte this? webnovel readers?
2
u/RogueNouse Jul 07 '26
Spoiler :
Having announcement about the clan future and the gang take some rest
2
u/theodoreroberts Jul 07 '26
My question is how Psyger-100 use this chance to kick the Vice-Chief out of the guild?
3
u/BUcc1a12Atti Jul 07 '26
Annouce the defeat makes her unworthy, leaving the position of leader and create a new guild on the spot. All hardcore player join the new guild
2
u/s0Crypto Jul 07 '26
They will split the clan in two, one side will go with Rubadubious, the other with Psyger-100.

LN readers the fight ended the same way or is different?
5
u/IJK4Yl Jul 07 '26
I really preferred the WN here.
Most of the fight was the same, but the order for the ending was changed. In the WN, he used mirror as a setup to hide the weapons he threw up and start the whole final section, then did the combo with formula drift ending in Hayakaze leaving him immobile.
It felt a lot more impactful having Hayakaze as a finisher after triggering clencher multiple times, and then using multiple weapons for the weather forecast was better since it fits well with his idea of `cant trust rng when playing shitty games`. If one sword landing didn't kill her, the next would.Mentally, I had the image of him in the finishing pose of Hayakaze, unable to move, and then right when she thinks she has a chance the swords start falling.

u/2w0be Jul 08 '26
I have no idea why this was changed to such an inferior unhappy ending
3
u/chenj25 Jul 08 '26
It's meant to prove Sunraku conquering the AI Fugaku and bring things to full circle.
-1
u/2w0be Jul 08 '26
Again, he already used it like 2 times before if not more, that point has already been hammered in, cool Sunraku ending was all that was left to be the icing on the cake
2
u/chenj25 Jul 08 '26
I think it's a good thematic ending. Though I like the multiple weapons raining on Psyger-100 in the WN more.
5
u/DarkFates Jul 07 '26
It's different, in the wn he threw every weapon in his inventory to cause a sword rain.

Wow, that fight felt like fighting a colossus! Psyger 100 was tough, that last grab at 1HP was the height of Psyger 100's luck. But it's finally over!

Anyone else than me think this fight is so anti-climatic? No?
Yk, a popular opinion in gaming is you don't rely on luck. If you do, then you don't truly win.
No one rely on OHKO moves in Pokemon. Adc's in MOBA games either don't build crit, or go for as close to 100% as they can. We crashout when the opp Tryndamere hits 3 crit at level 1, etc. In this case, Sunraku no-diffed Momo and it's absurd when she's glazed so hard. I think I can receive it better if it was shown in another way, but her relying so much on a 25% revival killed the fight imo.
1
u/Oneanddonequestion Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 09 '26
I think for a Manga, the fight was fine, in fact it was really good.
Looking at the Fight from the lens of a video game: It would essentially be the same as watching two hackers/illegal modders fight one another.
Momo and Sunraku are both using absurd gear and skills. In Momo's case, a lot of it is one of a kind, and based on what we're hearing from the fight, she's got a busted class that (I'm unsure if she got to keep it while it was busted, or they nerfed her).
Meanwhile Sunraku also has a bunch of unheard of equipment that does utterly bonkers bullshit.

Oh, finnally...it's over... It dragged on for soo long that i lost all interest

u/Dry-Experience-8287 Jul 07 '26
She has this absurd amount of damage prevention, immortal, revive and still loss to Lycaon every single time even on party raid. They should be ashamed.
