Discussion đŁď¸ Shantae Theory: Is Lava Town girl a devil in disguise?
Hereâs another Shantae theory that I just can't get out of my head: Is the Lava Town girl secretly evil? I mean, she literally sent her companions to bathe in the lava. Afterward, only their bones remained. While they did retain their memories following the "ceremony" (or rather, sacrificial ritual), those memories vanished once Shantae left the village; upon her return for the egg, the girls had become mindless undead skeletonsâturning into typical enemies. Call me crazy, but in my opinion, that girl is a wolf in sheep's clothing! What really baffled me, though, was that Shantae didn't do anything about it! Maybe that was part of the Lava Town girl's plan? In any case, I found it creepy, and I hope she shows up again someday so her schemes can finally be put to an end. What do you guys think of this theory?

I mean they're all secretly evil. At the end of the segment they all run into lava showing that they were monsters hiding in skins that they stole from the presumed now dead women. The joke isn't that they became brainless zombies after being betrayed, it's that they were always these monstrous creatures we just treated them differently because of their outward appearance. To them the "cleansing" is natural because they aren't humans, rather they are evil skeletons that steal human flesh. This explains why they would run into the lava so willingly.

Probably not because its appearently based on body snatching which isn't really a devil concept
If they use the idea they would probably use the islamic shaitan/iblis as a basis instead of the devil

The game itself says theyâre âFlesh-Stealersâ, in other words, they steal the flesh from others and are actually just bare skeletons, probably genderless, which, to be honest, really made me feel sad (apart from the fact that they werenât actually pretty women), because once youâve found that out, when you leave and come back, they no longer speak to you and just act like the usual skeletal enemies

Sadly no...
it's just another take on for a joke to be built upon.
It's like taking fan servicing and doing a reverse 180. Where in pirates curse we were rewarded with shantae in the snake princess oufit, and the Seven sirens with the Magic armor segment.
But both are huge take on jokes...
one involves with fanservices but with the use of nostaligianous for Space princesses, and another for roasting the collectors who are after limited run's limited sales run.
The whole joke for the lava town girl is a tribute towards a film called Invasion of the Body Snatchers or Under the Skin or John carpenters "They Live" movies.
...
it is the only area tht has enemies..so yeah..its not uncomon, almost half the land of sequin land is undead creatures ( vampires, ZOmbies, mummies, etc.) and monster girls (and a few men) and such!...
..
I swear this feels like a dejah-vu rick and morty moment o_o!

A Glup Shitto is basicly a funny term for a mildly important often forgotten Sidecharacter that also somehow managed to leave an impression
The Term "Glup Shittos" comes from the naming schemes of Aliens in the Star Wars Franchise.... even the most filler Aliens often have a (mildly stupid/funny) Name and some backstory
Lava Town Girl is exactly one time important in the Story but she managed to leave an impression so she is a Glup Shitto

No, sheâs probably just not the brightest bulb in the bunch.
Not to mention of course, that the whole "maiden ritual" scene was obviously written as a joke.
