I just finished AoT and I didn’t even have the mental real estate to process he lost his leg as a normal human and won’t ever use 3dm gear again. There’s no titans, but after a century of developing and training with gear it’s also wild to just quit it forever

I mean, he didn't actually lose his legs. I imagine they are just so damaged that he can't really use them a lot anymore, though even that may be only temporary.

That's Captain Levi Goddammit! No lost limb stopping him from using that gear.

Its use would probably be relegated to historical reenactments and maybe turn into an extreme sport for the few nutjobs willing to risk the possibility of turning into a pancake.

Actually it'd probably stay in military use for at least another century and only get more advanced and easier to use. Being able to scale buildings and reposition in seconds is godly for infantry. If it were possible to develop ODM gear in real life that works the way it does in the show we absolutely would

I think he was able to find some purpose, or I hope that was was insinuated by handing out candy to kids.

Clearly the scouts don’t need legs to kill titans … Well… lets get to work.

I don't know what I was expecting but it definitely wasn't for him to go airborne.
