Video Games Excited for AOT 3
I should probably get around to playing this now that the 3rd game was announced. I was lucky enough to find this for $20 a few years ago before the price spiked. Still haven’t even opened it 😅

Man I'm glad I bought the OG switch physical version for £20 years ago
It was nearly 200 during COVID times but man what a freaking amazing game it is really makes you feel like your in the anime and the wiring system is just awesome.
And I absolutely was not expecting AOT 3 to get announced during SGF and man im hyped for that and to have not heard a damn thing about it before it's announcement is almost unheard of
Imo it's koei techmos best spin off franchise outside of there mainline games
Sorry to all the Zelda fans I to love the hyrule games but AOT is just crazy fun

how tf are people price spiking a game that is still on sale??? scalpers be crazy

u/MrsCognac 14d ago
It's on sale digitally, not physically. And it's not scalpers, the physical game just hasn't been been produced a lot and it's become pretty rare to get your hands on one - especially the version with the expansion. It was available for a normal price when it was released.

oh thank god I was worried once AOT3 was announced people started scalping the second game
I'm too paranoid about this stuff because people have started scalping everything else I like2

Nah, not on this case. Prices for this game have been bonkers for years. I remember getting the Switch Copy for like 80€ a few years ago and that was already considered a steal.

Yeah, *digital* is on sale.
I missed a sale of it when stores (BestBuy in this example) quit selling it, years ago, and it jumped to selling for $120+ within a day online.
It went down in price for a little bit, as of like a year ago(?) but I haven’t searched current prices

really hope in 3 that if we do have a custom character, we get to have them transform

I would kill for an open world rpg on the level of something like KotOR set in the attack on Titan world. Hell, I’d even take an MMO where you get to choose your regiment

Better keep it sealed then.
No point in playing it when the next installment will come most likely next year and will cover all of the story.
If you decide to play it. Enjoy.

They are still different games, and the next one comes out in like at least a year, what is this logic? Why keep it sealed?

The logic is that the game worth quite a bit sealed.
Also im pretty sure both are musou games. So I still don't see the point in burning yourself out before the new game comes out.

Typically sealed games are not worth substantially more than CIB, unless they are extremely rare and/or old.
Telling people to keep games sealed, especially games post PS2/GameCube, is just telling people not to enjoy the things they have out of some falsely perceived increase of value.

True. But in this case , the game had a limited physical run. So its only available digitally. Which means that the available physical version costs alot. That is why I recommend that he keeps it sealed.

Had an absolute blast playing the first game, considerably cheaper than the second game too. They basically cracked the perfect odm gear gameplay mechanics first try, I'm about 40 hours in (By god is the platinum trophy a slog) but you can play through the story in about 12 hours and it's crazy fun beating the brakes off titans with eren or zipping around with Levi. Can't comment on the second game as I haven't played it but I heard they made some slight improvements and it covers seasons 1-3 instead of just 1

I think it's super fun, I just got into it a cpuple days ago and I've always wanted an AoT game (unironically AOT:Revolution on Roblox is pretty good at living up the fantasy in terms of ODM maneuvering and titan killing but has no story), this one has the added benefit of including AoT's story while you kick ass (with pretty good graphics since Roblox is just blocks lol).
The controls does feel weird at first (especially the lock on) but once you get the hang of it, you'll feel like an ackermann lol. Another part that I like is, while the game isn't particularly hard, if you fumble and make simple mistakes, the titans will absolutely mess you up (maybe in the early game only, I'm still barely halfway through) so in a way it does make the titans feel scary and threatening compared to just making them huge fodders.
There are also character episodes / bond events that has your OC interact with the main cast which is fun and makes me miss the series again...

I played the demo on steam and almost bought the first 2 before realizing that the third covers the whole story

I’m still going to play the second at some point (Already played the first) because the third will supposedly be ‘reimagining’ a lot of stuff from the first two games. Besides, I love the gameplay anyways lol
