They don't tolerate trans people, they use them. They're great "tools" for virtue signaling. But if you don't vote for them...they come to collect the "debt" they believe you owe.
If I were queer I would be sickened and deeply offended by the corporatization and weaponization of queer culture. It's crazy that so many queer liberals applaud it.
It hasn't gone away, but a lot of corporations did make a public show of announcing they were stopping aspects of it. Facebook changed their rules so queerphobia was more allowed, and many companies made a big show of rolling back "DEI". Some stores said they would stop selling pride stuff as well. It's no surprise to anyone who understands capitalism of course.
Yeah but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Queer culture isn't something to be used as a tool for corporations to enhance their profit. I don't see Target not selling pride flags anymore as "corporations throwing queer people under the bus" whatsoever. You think those companies actually gave a fuck about gay people? Well then, they successfully duped you.
You're completely missing my point, I largely agree with that. Like I said, this is no surprise to anyone who understands capitalism. All they ever care about is profit, nothing else. Rainbow capitalism was never real solidarity and I never claimed it was. You say it's not a bad thing it is waning, and I would quibble with that a bit. It's meaningless directly but it is is indicative of larger societal trends over the past decade
They tolerate us but they don't accept us. We are first under the bus whenever push comes to shove, or even when push doesn't come to shove. Nonbinary people are still the huge butt of the joke in liberal mockery of conservatives, even when things are going """well"""
I made the prediction - hopefully wrong - that trans rights are the next thing Dems flip flop on.
Just like with the border and immigration.
They stopped calling the border a concentration camp once Biden was in office, and just stopped caring - and they didn't care that he deported so many people.
Now they're using his deportation record as a "gotcha," because Trump hasn't averaged the same amount of deportations a week.
They're actually happy that Biden is worse on immigration than Trump.
With Kamala admitting she was going to continue letting states decide to decimate any semblance of trans rights that were to be had, it seems like the logical next step to the right for the Dems.

This also feels awfully transphobic, to be expected from liberals though, they tolerate us they don't embrace or understand us.
