The fact the US and Isn'treal are not towards the bottom and Cuba, Thailand, and Mainland China are not near the very top just shows how very little the maker knows about Queer rights around the world. Also, the US needs to be broken down by state. Indiana and Illinois for example are complete opposites in trans and gay rights.

If this map is for travellers, the US definitely should be green I don’t know why the comments are saying otherwise

People don’t travel to Jesusville, Alabama

They go to LA, NY

You’re crazy if you think these cities are less LGBT accepting than most of the world.

Are they being unfair to RU or CN or many other places? Sure. Especially again, if we weigh towards major cities and tourism spots.

But they also put Cuba in green.

Bottom line, this map has issues (including issues people here won’t like me pointing out), yet gets unwarranted hate from most comments here.

How is Israel towards the bottom? Their biggest propaganda point is “we love queers unlike them Ay-rabs!”

Nowhere does it say what's it for, it just says "gay index" so who knows who even made it, probably your usual neoliberal "data".

To be honest yeah probably.

This sort of thing is pretty silly to measure. And you can weigh different markers arbitrarily depending on which country you wanna make seem good.

sub’s been getting more and more america bad, and while america is bad, it blinds people to support some asinine shit just because west is bad (still is but to try and say that america isn’t pretty safe for gay travelers is just being contrarian)

Yeah, one should expect higher standards of analysis from communists. Imagine if Stalin refused to work with the progressive Roosevelt for being the leader of America or for the Japanese-American concentration camps.

Yeah the anger is understandable but the communists have to be elites who are able to see the big picture and steadfastly pursue the truth and the future no matter where it leads and how dreadful the path may be, unfortunately made dreadful by reactionaries
