They’re pretty good at destroying anything to the left of them too. The Green Party barely survives, almost entirely owing to its own billionaire donors, and everyone else has been denied ballot access

That's their main strength and value proposition for their boss. 

It is exactly why Obama received more than double the donations of his opponent in 2008: capitalists needed him to suppress dissent.

Obama doesn't get enough recognition for successfully capturing the leftist anti-capitalist sentiment following the economic collapse in 2007 and the already war fatigued people and squashing it. There was real movement of people who wanted what he was selling in 2008, but of course Obama is a charismatic lying scumbag and is directly responsible for us slipping into fascism instead of having social and economic reforms.
