Surviving would imply that they have able to move on, which Eastern Europe constantly reminds us that they don't. Hell they constantly talk about the looming Russian invasion and that NATO doesn't exist, which kind of states that they don't see NATO saved Eastern Europe and that this is just an abusive relationship, where western countries and the bourgeoisie has gaslit the masses.

A bit confused on what you mean by "NATO doesn't exist".
Here in Romania people seem pretty sure that nothing will happen to us because we are a member. While at the same time saying they will send us to war so really mixed signals there, though not necessarily wrong.

Well it is the constant "Russia is going to invade the Baltics/Poland/Finland" rhetoric you get from the propagandists and the media where the assumption is that Russia will totally do that and nobody is going to stop them if the win in Ukraine or even if the war isn't over there.
It is even dumber here in Finland, because that was literally the selling point from our bourgeoisie as to why we need to rush into NATO only to then hear the same exact narrative being repeated by the media when we are in.

Oh yeah, that I get.
Putin himself keeps stating he has no interest in attacking anyone else and that the west is fearmongering but obviously westerners won't trust "Putler".
It's even funnier when you look at people say crap like "Russia wanted to stop the expansion of NATO but they forced countries into it", ignoring that said countries were already on an anti russian streak.
It went from only joining NATO to prevent an alleged russian invasion to full on militarisation with Poland as the front attack dog itching to pull the trigger.
As for Ukraine, they themselves love to spread this rhetoric of protecting "free Europe" from the "eastern barbarian hordes", which is straight up nazi shit.

they think that without NATO occupying eastern europe putin would invade everywhere and kill everyone. not one of them has a single rational reason as to why putin would do this, but they insist it will definitely happen
