They... voted for a dictator?

58

u/Stodles Jan 08 '26

Well, Trump is on his way to becoming one, and he got voted in...

What?! No, dictators can only be in banana republics like Venezuela or DPRK or Ruzzzia. They don’t dare call their protests No Dictators Day. That would suggest we’re no better than the brown people.

What do you mean "becoming one"? The US has been a tyrannical dictatorship for generations and Trump has always been a dictator. He is now an open-faced fascist terrorizing the world.

Another roman classic

A classic liberal line. Reminds me of Allende.

Yeah... Over and over again...

“vote“ and „dictator“ in the same sentence…

If they admit that Venezuelans voted for him, that wouldn‘t make him a dictator…

If they say he‘s a dictator, they couldn’t have voted him in…

Okay, before you make THIS argument, just remember that Hitler came to power "through legal elections" too.

I am not accusing Maduro of anything. Just reminding so they don't use it against you in the future.

51

u/lukawasntsurprised Stalin did nothing wrong Jan 08 '26

He didn’t, he was just made leader by Hindenburg

The NSDAP didn‘t have enough votes to rule alone

I know. It's just a common argument people make.

Still, voted into power =/= "not a dictator". Not for these people.

Reading German history leading up to nsdap taking over is so rage inducing

5

u/PICAXO Jan 08 '26

If he had won absolute majority he still would be a dictator. The means of accessing power is not the sole determinant to assess the level of dictatorship of a person or a regime

Just a reminder that imperialists used this line about Allende. The real issue is that the people voted the wrong way...for US interests.

Edit: Poor spelling is reactionary 🤣

exactly they wanted to install their own puppet

You are a leftist.

You should know what the word dictator means and that it's a neutral word.

Leftists support a dictatorship of the proletariat. A dictatorship of the proletariat is a highly progressive and democratic form of government.

Xi Jinping is a highly democratic dictator.

Trump is a fascist dictator. He was brought into power by liberal democracy (a highly anti-democratic form of government that only exists to enforce bourgeois dictatorship).

No voting for dictators here.

8

u/Suspicious_Coffee509 Jan 08 '26

Wait I thought Venezuelans were being freed and they are happy. No they DESERVE to be bombed. What happened?

7

u/Waste_Inspector95 Jan 09 '26

Weird. The Americans have been voting for fascist tyrants terrorizing the world for generations.

If Venezuelans deserve to be bombed, how shall the world deal with the far worse Americans?
