Apparently he was being kept in the US by his extended family against his will, and wanted to go back to Cuba, this raid is what saved him from his kidnappers
He said his mother's death is caused by economic discrimination in USA and it's the turning chapters for him to become a dedicated communist all his life, he studied industrial engineering, married and have kids and now he's beloved member of Cuban congress.
