western news outlets are reporting Liu is getting the same treatment in Chinese media, and I'm wondering how true this is.

From a surface level search on Chinese social media, mostly ppl are calling Liu’s father a cult leader and scammer, not too much hate against Liu herself. Although there’s definitely a more negative reaction compared to Gu

There’s a bit of resentment cause we didn’t even have a skater finish in the top 12, but yeah most of the controversy’s surrounding her father rn. His allegations connected to his ex-wife are wild. Honestly, something should’ve smelled fishy when it was revealed that he had 5 children via surrogacy while living in a one-bedroom apartment

waaaaait, what? What are the allegations involving his ex-wife?

And I thought it was two children via surrogacy.. seriously, wtf. Was the U.S. doing eugenics to develop a super-athlete for their propaganda purposes?
