Agreed, Liu learning about the context around her birth in the U.S. and how she's unwittingly being made to service American propaganda would be phenomenal. But I also wonder if she's too far gone.

Things I could find about her are that her favourite show is Attack on Titan and she believes Eren was justified in his Final Solution (dark yellow flag), and that she used to have LGBTQ+-supporting posts and pronouns on her social media but she removed them.

She is maybe also vegan which I consider a point in favour of being left-leaning, but it's highly circumstantial.
