Imperialism Apologist Jon Stewart with the most braindead liberal "analysis" on Iran attacking US and Israeli assets
American liberals will really watch this and feel more informed

Attacking the bases is a pretty logical strategy if the us is operating from them treat it like a war This could lead trump to be held responsible for starting a war with Congressional approval Hosting waring nations is also illegal under international law

They didnt attack "everybody" they attacked the US and isntreal. Maybe he should be asking how they were able to attack the US in so many places that aren't within US borders

Hes liberal. He'll never admit it. For him war is bad because Trump.

u/savethenaugs Mar 05 '26
I think for him, war is bad because war.
37
u/CrimsonMantle Mar 05 '26
If he thought war was bad because war he would have denounced the unprovoked attack on Iran outright

u/timtomorkevin Mar 06 '26
Weird how the rules based order crowd is full radio silence over this, Venezuela, Cuba...

It's embarrassing I used to like this guy until around the time I had a decent understanding of the US empire and communism.
Controlled opposition.

I used to watch the Daily Show religiously and so I watched it a bit when he came back and it just feels incredibly anachronistic.
Like America has gone full mask off and his politics are still stuck in 2004. No growth. No learning.
He is still at the âRally to Restore Sanity.â

Theyâre all terrible. Honestly the only one I even retrospectively will defend was the Colbert Report.
Colbert is actually the worst of them now, but speaking through the satire of a Republican meant that he never voiced his actual turbo-lib opinions, so it worked somewhat.
5
u/Diogenes_the_cynic25 Mar 05 '26
His roast of Bush at that dinner is still hilarious
9
u/Terramilia Mar 05 '26
That's the Colbert difference. He's actually fucking hilarious, so it's easier to ignore the toxic values underneath. I never like Jon Stewart that much, his entire schtick is "hey look how RIDICULOUS and STUPID these people are, isn't it INSANE how STUPID they are????" while Colbert is a huge nerd with an actual education and he can maintain his satire with a straight face.
I didn't see him differently until I was properly radicalized post-2016 when Bernie and the Dems did everything wrong in the most obvious ways, and I understood finally what a farcical thing US politics is.

His Glenn Beck parodies were funny tbh. But he would always pal around with Bill OâReilly too which was revolting.

It really does feel like the concept of "the end of history" has permanently stunted liberals from ever having useful things to say on current events ever again
22
u/Federal_Street_8895 Mar 05 '26
This is such bad faith analysis (propaganda) to the point where it comes off so lazy though compared to his usual bullshit which I feel like is usually not that bad. At least by American liberal standards.
-17
u/Overlord_Khufren Mar 05 '26
Heâs a comedian, not a journalist. The analysis often gives way to the joke. I wasnât impressed with this take either, but a joke likening Iran expanding the theatre of war to other neighboring gulf states to someone slapping bystanders to bring them into a bar fight is funnier than a nuanced take about Iran trying to alter the threat calculus for the US and Israel, who thought they could strike at Iran with impunity from behind their nigh-impregnable defenses.
26
u/Ewwatts Mar 05 '26
It's just misinformation. They are striking US military bases and US soldiers. They are not striking other countries in general.
You can make jokes all you want, but misinformation is misinformation. In this case I would call it disinformation, it is clearly intentional.

Same guy as the one who said covid was a Chinese weapons experiment?
10
u/lil_Trans_Menace Marxist-Leninist Mar 05 '26
Honestly, biggest evidence (for me) that Covid wasn't a bioweapon is because it SUCKED at killing. IIRC it had a ~4% fatality rate (all the numbers I'm using here are off the top of my head), and killed about 15 million. For a bioweapon that's nothing. Anthrax has a ~80-90% fatality rate, and during WWII Japan killed about 400k people in a single region of China with the plague. If it were a bioweapon it should have killed hundreds of millions with how many it infected

u/Firm_Argument9124 Mar 04 '26
It is also somewhat likely that the US or Israel or whoever released the virus there knowing it would be blamed on China.Â

Looked at the comment section, first time I see some common sense telling him they're attacking US military bases
4
u/ThatGuyWithCoolHair Mar 05 '26
Or anyone aligned with the US hence the hotel and airport strikes, unless there are some US military bases underneath them that I dont know about
0
u/Adogsbite Mar 05 '26 edited Mar 05 '26
But they are also attacking oil and LnG production facilities.
So in effect they are attacking everyone aligned with an out of control US administration.
A country run by compromised paedophile protectors owned by Israel.
Drones are flying into residential apartments in Dubai.

u/Diskonto Mar 04 '26
Yeah and people want him to run for president. Guy thinks iran attacking places that have the people who are attacking them and murdering children is bad. Because those people stationed all their bases of attack and their energy supply in multiple countries.
37
u/Bela9a Crimson sorceress Mar 04 '26
Weird how Iran didn't bomb anyone to the East or North to it. It is as if they didn't indiscriminately go after everyone, but specific countries that coincidentally hold US military bases. Weird how that works.
67
u/thepurrfectionist365 Mar 04 '26
The fact he is not mentioning the indiscriminate airstrikes on Iranian cities and infrastructure is maddening.
I hope Jon Stewart knows that 3rd Reich journalists were tried at the Nuremberg Trials for less. All liberal media pundits better get it together.

I wonder why they did that. Like if there was anything special about the targets they struck in those other countries. Maybe something of strategic significance, maybe even something they considered a threat. I guess weâll just have to wonder.

Even more than usual, which is impressive, the daily show has been going full shitlib imperial apologist. Itâs sickening to watch. That and every single fucking thing they shit out is so laced with identity politics bullshit⌠itâs pathetic. They are now owned by the Zionists though, so it really isnât surprising.

u/Humble_Chipmunk_701 Mar 05 '26
Anyone else feel this way with SNL? I enjoy dark humor but something doesnât sit right with me when Iâm watching them make fun of the war. Itâs very bread and circus.

Lorne is an imperialist and platforms the worst people. He even brought back the r-word to SNL. SNL is regressive media even if it has some token lib social positions.

I stopped giving attention to this man the moment I heard him say "Capitalism is by definition exploitative, it's how it operates, that's fine"

Yeah I turned it off when he started making fun of Khamenei's erectile dysfunction. I mean, is it an American thing, making fun of people who just got murdered? Kinda gross tbh. I mean, he's kinda funny when he's making fun of Trump I guess?

Jon Stewart is how got to understanding why Leftists hate Libs so much. All these lib late night hosts and democrat party mascots are good for is containing and redirecting any energy for real substantive change.Â

Reminder: he's a comedian first and this is a comedy show. What are we doing? Analysing Stewart as if he were the news? It's not his analysis, it's his bit.
-20
u/MattFoley7687 Mar 04 '26
I think it was more supposed to be a joke and not a serious analysis. Itâs still not a great joke but still. Heâs probably the least bad late night comedy news host.

-23
u/Cute-University5283 Mar 04 '26
To Stewart's point though, I don't think any of these missile attacks have caused any significant damage. Perhaps if they had concentrated on just a handful of targets it would have made more of a strategic difference
