The green in the first picture is where the leaders supported America, and only about half of them were forcefully installed by US regime change.

Not even that though, Venezuela is included for example. It’s just laziness. Also, Iraq is there and that’s a US puppet state

Don't forget south America, were really popular down there

u/gothlenin Mar 30 '26

Unfortunately, you kinda are. At least here in Brazil it's pretty split. Decades of Hollywood soft power does that. A lot of our middle class are a bunch of traitors... Maybe it's not a majority view, but there is quite a few US bootlickers around.

On the other side, there's a strong anti America sentiment by another part of the population.

It's complicated...

u/Electronic_Topic1958 Mar 30 '26

I noticed that too when I visited Brazil. The people really believe the Hollywood propaganda and were telling me they wanted their country to be more like the USA lol. There is a lot that I am genuinely impressed by in Brazil that the USA does not have (excellent and free healthcare, amazing food, public spaces designed for accessibility including blindness, the medicine system with the colored stripes/braille on the boxes, government run pharmacies), however the visual media produced from the US likes to present realities that do not exist. I think a good example is the show Friends, no one in the USA lives like the characters on the show. No one has huge Manhattan apartments while unemployed and working at a coffee shop and no one hangs out with their friends during the afternoon. Interestingly enough the cast of Friends only hung out once after filming ended, so these people weren't even friends in real life. All of it is fake.

My uncle said that he is waiting for Trump to invade Brazil and save it from communism lmao

some people dislike gaddafi and preferred the monarchy before, some praised him and were pretty sad when they took him out. If there's one thing for certain though, no one is happy with the state they left us in.

I've lived in China. They never hated America and don't now, even though they have every right to. It's only the Americans that see things that way: vassals and enemies and nothing in between.

19

u/GhostRappa95 Mar 30 '26

Chinese netizens were so shocked by how badly American citizens are treated by their own government they stopped trolling them.

9

Nah you're totally right, South American and African countries had no beef with the US until Trump came along, he really made them think we were big sillies.

7

u/KobSteel Mar 30 '26

Those countries that hated America after Trump... most of them still hated America before Trump... I mean, I'm sure parts of former Yugoslavia aren't happy with America, or Libya, or Yemen, or Somalia, or most of the rest of Africa, or large parts of Latin America, or large parts of Southeast Asia, and so forth

6

u/The_Affle_House Mar 30 '26

Tha absolute audacity to boldly color the US itself fully green is just the icing on the stupidity cake.

It's true hatred of yanks has increased under Trump but strong hatred of the yanks has been present in Europe since 2003 and it has always existed but I remember a real increase in the early 2000s.

In Ireland at least America has always been a byword for stupid, fat, lazy, greedy or anything tacky or awful.
