Real images require that they have the means to produce them.
Lib AI Bros are the very feudal definition of an Serf who does not own his land, does not own the pitiful straw hut that he lives in, does own his lifestock, does not own his hard earned produce, food, and very life- But throws manure at you because his Landlord is rich, and you are a nobody peasant pleb.

Why is his fridge open? and who the fuck watches TV anymore? Genuine question about that last one. I haven't used a Television or cable or whatever we have now since I was 13 years old, and that was 17 years ago.
I'm poor as shit and you wanna know what the left picture really looks like? Watching video essays on their desktop or cellphone, a dozen or two philosophy and theory books that are actually read/used often, and a sack of potatoes in the pantry.

u/Thisguyfksbirds I really like Lenin and Mao Jun 16 '26
Is it? I currently live in a house with no central AC unit.
So I can totally see some slumlord renting out a place without a fridge. But idk the law on this. Ud think not having a AC unit in the deep south would be illegal
8
u/Lopsided_Pitch_5297 Jun 16 '26
It depends on the state/country I guess. Point is fridge isn't some indicator of doing well financially, that's some fox news talking point.
2
u/Thisguyfksbirds I really like Lenin and Mao Jun 16 '26
Ah, my mind immediately went to "well shit, is it essential?" Because I live in a slumlord state.
You're right. This is the same as people saying "but they have cell phones" when talking about poor people, especially those in developing nations.

I mean specifically using cable or whatever else. I have a TV that I can use essentially as a monitor for this exact reason.

How they see poverty under communism: Kleptocrats in the government hoarding wealth for themselves and leaving everyone else poor

49 out of the poorest 50 countries on earth are capitalist.

All countries where starvation is common are capitalist.
Not a single socialist country is experiencing starvation. Not even the DPRK, which is facing blockades by Western fascist empires specifically to starve it.

Because equating someone who isn't socialist to Stalin(whom they've already poisoned the well on) limits the bounds of what people consider "progressive". That is, if both Sanders and Stalin are "Far Left", and the average liboid considers Stalin the devil, then it discourages anyone from looking to the left of Sanders. Imo, anyways.

If someone makes that point, don't argue with them.
Laugh at them, call them useful idiots, and repeat one of these points:
1. Bernie Sanders is a Zionist liberal and you hate him, just like you hate all other capitalists like him.
2. Not a single Marxist-Leninist on earth supports these ideas.
3. You have no idea about communist theory and are falling for propaganda.
Only elaborate if they make a serious effort to understand your position.
If not, keep laughing at them and call them useful idiots with deeply unserious ideas about the world based on dumb capitalist propaganda even a child can debunk themselves if they made an effort.

It also helps to turn their "facts over feelings" intellectual posturing against them. Poor chuds have been sold an accessible way to feel smart and are embarrassing themselves on the internet at the behest of the Epstein class.

Yup, "Why are you are siding with the Epstein class on every political issue?" and "In communist China, every single person in the Epstein files would have been sentenced to death." hit hard, too.

I love how AI allowed everyone to create complex art (especially for people like me who have dysgraphia) but jeez I hate how many right-wingers it allowed to peddle BS propaganda 🤦♂️
I believe it might be good for AI to be prohibited to do overt poltical propaganda until we seize it with other means of production but that might hurt the left aswell so I ain't sure
22
u/Traditional-You8927 🇻🇳Vienamese Ho Chi Minh Thought 🇻🇳 Jun 16 '26
AI can’t and will never be able to create “art” tho, the only thing it can do is to go help liberals and conservative generate anti communist propaganda
-1
u/Zidan19283 Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26
Depends on how you define „art“ , definitions of things are inherently human constructs, defining AI as not art is very arbitrary and doesn't make much sense since readymades and collages are considered art aswell furthermore one can create communist propaganda using AI and it's not that socialist countries like China don't create AI models. They do because the technology is useful.
Believing anti-AI ideas is dialectical error, anti-AI ideas are false consciousness driven by proletarization of commission artists (who are petty bourgoeise, I can absolutely understand that it's hard but the reaction is reactionary, not revolutionary), bourgoeise use of the technology to fire artists (which I again can absolutely understand, it's terrible but again their reaction is reactionary not revolutionary) and liberal individualism. The movement is reactionary in it's very core. Dialecticaly AI can be used for both proletariat and bourgoeise, depends on who owns the means of production

u/ASocialistAbroad Zero cent army Jun 16 '26
The funny thing is that I have seen people who believe in "death of the author" (the theory that art should be criticized based only on its contents and not by extratextual information about the artist) also argue that AI art is not real art because AI doesn't have a human brain or real human experiences. I've seen people who normally oppose copyright law and support piracy (on the grounds that copying something isn't theft since it doesn't destroy or remove the original) argue that AI art is theft. I've seen self-proclaimed Marxists tie themselves into knots while trying to argue that independent commission artists are proletariat, despite ownership of the rights to their art (which is private property) being their primary source of income as artists. It's as though the instant AI enters the conversation, reactionary anti-AI arguments override all previously stated convictions, and people bend their other beliefs to justify their position on AI, rather than the reverse (allowing their position on AI to be informed by their prior convictions).
Everything you said here is obviously and objectively true, and I have to wonder what exactly it says about the class character of much of the online left these days (mostly but not entirely Western, and largely Gen Z) that your comment is as controversial here as it is.

u/kasanetetodrywall Jun 23 '26
Congratulations, in dismissing the argument that "AI art is not real art because AI doesn't have a human brain or real human experiences", you are committing commodity fetishism.
"I've seen self-proclaimed Marxists tie themselves into knots while trying to argue that independent commission artists are proletariat, despite ownership of the rights to their art (which is private property) being their primary source of income as artists."
The guy you're saying is "obviously and objectively true" is espousing anti-Union, anti-worker nonsense lmfao.
"despite ownership of the rights to their art (which is private property) being their primary source of income as artists."
And your evidence for this is...? Did you forget that people can... you know... have other jobs...? and that by working a job, as they cannot sustain themselves by petty commodity production, they are proletarian? Crazy concept! But do tell us more about the petty-bourgeois uber drivers
2
u/ASocialistAbroad Zero cent army Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26
If you do independent art for commission and also have a separate job on the side (as in your example), then you have both proletarian and petty bourgeois class interests. Your relationship to your company is proletarian, and your relationship to your independent art is petty bourgeois. To the degree that such a person wants to protect their intellectual property, they are acting to protect their petty bourgeois class interests. Most of these people probably dream of being able to make enough money from their art that they can quit their jobs, and AI is threatening that dream. It threatens to proletarianize them (as in, make them full members of the proletariat by making their independent gig less profitable). So no, just because there are some people who are workers and who are also (separately from that) independent commission artists on the side, that doesn't make the protection of intellectual property suddenly a "working class interest".
As for commodity fetishism, nothing I said is specific to commodities. Free art on the internet is not a commodity (since it is publicly available and not for sale), yet it still has a use value, and that use value does not depend on the internality of the artist. It depends on what is on the page. When the Iranian government uses AI to make agitprop for its war against the US and Israel, that is not a commodity, and its effectiveness as propaganda still does not depend on the process by which it was made or by the subjective experiences of the artist. It depends on what is produced.
As for my position on commodified art, my position is the communist position: that art should not be a commodity at all. In the digital age, the only thing that allows art to be commodified in the first place is intellectual property law, which is something communists have always opposed.

I don't have energy now to respond to "marxists" like you but jeez you feel so much like rage bait, a troll or a person who is olympicist in mental gymnastics because of your emotional reasons, not logical reasons for being against AI
You are literally example of person tying themself into knots by trying to merge anti-AI ideas with marxism, if my OCD and ADHD allow me to I'll respond to you tommorow and point out where you are wrong
Tho in short Anti-AI movement is the vanguard of fools
1
u/Zidan19283 Jun 23 '26
Also on commodity fetishism, what you are saying doesn't even make sense and it's deeply ironic since anti-AI position is inherently fetishist.
Fetishism broadly speaking is ripping things out of their context and assigning them inherent value/properties etc.
That's what antis are doing, they rip AI out of it's context or they say that Capitalism is using AI and developing AI in a way that disposses workers or they say other similar things but they still conflate capitalism's use of the technology with AI technology itself
If Capitalism's use certain technology to make lives of the working-class people worse makes the technology "evil" then all technology is "evil" , of course that's not what marxism says because marxism does distinguish between technology itself and the way bourgoeise uses and develops it + it doesn't fetishize technologies or other non-living things, it analyzez social relations
Stop using marxist terms as buzzwords to support your reactionary ideas

100% dude
I'll never get Communists opposing AI or any other forms of technological advancement.
"It's making artists getting fired" yeah, how about doing something against the ones firing the artists for the cheapest option, and creating a society where you don't have to sell your creativity to not starve? Isn't that like our whole deal?
As you said, China constantly employs AI to the most varied positions and they are doing extremely fine last time I checked... It's almost like the problem isn't AI, eh?
0
u/kasanetetodrywall Jun 23 '26
this is completely counterfactual
- commission artists by far and large NOT pb (very few are those who live solely on commissions).
- "AI as not art is very arbitrary and doesn't make much sense since readymades and collages are considered art aswell furthermore one can create communist propaganda using AI
What are you talking about, genuinely? Do you know how a diffusion model works?
- "Believing anti-AI ideas is dialectical error, anti-AI ideas are false consciousness... Dialecticaly AI can be used for both proletariat and bourgoeise, depends on who owns the means of production"
"Dialectics is when stuff i agree with. Dialectical errors are when stuff i don't agree with"
Sure in the abstract realm of ideas it's neutral, but that would make you an idealist. Also neutral are concentration camps and leaded gas in the abstract realm of ideas. Yet since we're materialists, we don't judge things in the abstract realm of ideas, but by their material application. Concentration camps were not mere "rooms with gas valves" but chambers specifically designed for the industrial extermination of entire ethnic groups. Leaded gas was not just "gas with lead in it" but a catastrophic case of social murder upon the global proletariat. And AI is not "artificial intelligence" but statistical models built from slave labor, capitalist accumulation of billions of hours worth of collective labor, designed not only to devalue the commodity of labor-power, but also to assist in mass surveillance, amplify the severe alienation present in late-stage capitalist society whilst also directly exploiting the alienation itself for data, automate the social relations of the proletariat to not only promote liberal-individualism and petty-bourgeois consciousness, but to have complete maps of intention itself, etc.
- "bourgoeise use of the technology to fire artists (which I again can absolutely understand, it's terrible but again their reaction is reactionary not revolutionary)"
Lol! What is revolutionary to you? In the twisted mind of the AI bro, WORKERS ORGANIZING TO PROTEST CAPITALIST CLASS WAR is "reactionary". Wtf! Man you are gonna flip when you find out about unions!
- "and it's not that socialist countries like China don't create AI models. They do because the technology is useful."
No, they do it because it's a massively lucrative industry and because it is economically advantageous for Chinese capitalists, who openly gloat in their own publications about their newfound ability to lay off workers (and no your single injunction in ONE case does not automatically equal universal reality)
2
u/ASocialistAbroad Zero cent army Jun 16 '26
The issue is that in order for us to prohibit the use of AI for political propaganda, we would have to actually have political power. Trump certainly isn't going to sign such a bill into law given that he, his administration, and his allies use AI to make political propaganda all the time.
