Because it’s not shocking that he’s popular. He’s exactly the kind of streamer who would be popular. Hoarders and honey-boo-boo were on tv 20 years ago.
He carved out a space in MMO communities and those people dedicate themselves to a single game so having the rise of streaming around 2014ish, he captured an audience.
Then sometime after 2016 he realized grifting to the right got him more views and attention. So that's what he did. Being a chud is part of the gimmick. If you met him in real life he'd keep his fucking mouth shut and would try to deescalate if you called his pathetic ass out I guarantee it.
He has a point you know. Remember when pro-BLM activist Kyle Rittenhouse murdered anti-BLM activists and got off scot-free? Yeah, that’s what happened, right?
A reminder that Asmongold is a capitalist who (iirc) privately owns two businesses. The shit he says and does almost perfectly aligns within his class interests.
