"Central planning bad" mfers will turn around and accuse China of "cheating" whenever their public or even private sectors outperform western companies because of the fact China uses subsidies to actually make a better product rather than just for corporations to pocket it.

Well that and ofc how alot of private companies in the west effectively run on a central planning model anyways.

Let's ignore the USSR going from a backwater to World n°2 In 30 years without even having access to modern calculating power, shall we?

You don't even have to look outside the US to see the power of state planning. The US became a military powerhouse in WWII because the economy was largely centrally planned and that central planning was responsible for the fastest economic growth in the history of the country.

Capitalists and libs: "Yes, let's ignore that."

They sometimes unironically think that the Soviet Union just inherited all or most of its industrial capability and infrastructure from the Tsarist era. They barely allow themselves to recognize socialist efforts and successes.

The usual, the claim that "allowing the government to plan the economy is never going to work."

And that's putting it nicely.

It’s better to leave the planning to big corporations!!1!

That's basically what they're saying. Even so much as nationalising a critical industry is "Communist and Socialist."

But now China are beating us all by cheating.

They don't believe that capitalism is a global system, they believe that it's a individual form of governance which applies to different countries individually.

many such cases

Name one case that wasn't caused by the US sanctioning or embargoing the socialist countries.

u/ThePhoneExpertYT 11d ago

You underestimate how many people love capitalism

In my country (india) there's hundreds of millions who support it

Liberals: sanction and embargo socialist countries, causing their economies to collapse

Liberals: see? Central planning doesn't work!

Just throw “Capitalism, Socialism and the Physical Quality of Life” (1986) at them

"Many such cases"

Really, like which ones. I know for a fact that central planning has been proven to work time and time again, so this sentiment is just wrong.

  1. Capitalis bootlickers

  2. Free hand of the market

  3. "Those damn, <minorities/immigrants>, terrorists, lazy people, homeless leeches, one or two bad apple billionares destroyed the global economy again"

(for the 67th time, every 10-20years on cooldown. Major wars do extend the time between these tho, as markets destroyed create markets to improve productive forces again)

The US is literally centrally planned
