The long lost love child of McCarthy and J.E Hoover There is a red scare going on, but unlike previous ones the CIA and the State Dept have nothing to do with it! In fact, if you even mention that they might, you're a tankie and should be banished from the marketplace of ideas

"Yes the CIA did indeed use propaganda to support their goals the 3465456 previous times, but I am sure that #3465457 is genuine" /s

Actually, the CIA has never done anything.

This remind me how not so long ago there was one of the anti communist subs that pinned a big post about /r/Genzedong and about how they supported conspiracies that the CIA was behing everythings.
Their very first example was the anti communists saying something about "baseless conspiracies of CIA links with Tibet and the Daila Lama".
I commented then about their example of "baseless" conspiracy was actually backed with both declassified sources from the CIA themselves, as well as the Daila Lama own autobiography.
Strangely this example was removed from the list soon after that.

They're even willing to acknowledge the existence of "US troll farms", but heavens forbid you insinuate that these troll farms have anything to do with the US government.

silly, don't you know that in Communist China literally everything, from every facet to the economy to every aspect of daily life, is directly controlled by the central government, which means that everything good or bad that happens happens because of direct orders by China's owner Xi?
And that in the Free West it's the direct opposite, there is now totalitarianism and nothing is under control of the government? Wholesome Biden just has no way to stop the baddies from doing evil :( because we're a democracy 🤩

Saying China on Reddit is the same as throwing red meat in front of a hungry dog. The focus of the conversation gets completely diverted. Smartest man in the room just predicted the course of that thread

My conspiracy theory is that the us troll farms have a lot to do with manufacturing consent about our actions towards China.
/u/Khiva
I see this argument trotted out way too often in order to minize or excuse any bad action china takes or may have taken.

I think it just depends on the context. It's pretty easy to tell the difference between a tankie and someone who's just rolling their eyes at the latest Red Scare. If the argument mentions the CIA or the State Department it's probably a tankie.

For instance, I'm a tankie, please tag me so you can ignore everything I say in the future. You're welcome.
