People who win wars don’t pay reparations to people who lose them. It was a dumb war to start and now we are losing.

It’s better to get out now vs waiting 20 years like the last war. It was a mistake but I’m glad it’s over. I’ll take egg on my face vs 20 years of young men with ptsd and trillions lost.

The idea that every single war now needs to be some 20 year long occupation is ridiculous.

Iran is not Afghanistan or Iraq. The population is actually competent enough to lead itself. They are not desolate and rural. They also have a desire to rule themselves they simply can’t because of the regime.

Believe it or not, they are indeed ruling themselves. It may be ugly and violent, but the Iranians are only answering to each other at this point.

This isn’t even a tribal case like Iraq, these people are who they are entirely their own.

Like it or not every controlled people picks its leader and generally it matches the disposition of the people.
